Pretty sure most women in business have experienced this
I overthink literally every word that comes out of my mouth
My outgoing email box has a 2 minute hold on it. That way I can second guess myself after I hit send.
If you have outlook, here’s how to create a rule to do it. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/troubleshoot/email-management/emails-remain-in-outbox-deferred-delivery-rule
That is very normal. Know your audience. Do they want tons of info or a quick one two sentence reply. This can be very helpful in delivering your message.
Happens to me all the time. It really slows me down and I hate it
Yup 🙋
I overthink that. Come to think of it, I overthink everything. 🤷♂️
Same with slack messages over here...
The backspace, copy & paste keys to start next version are my best friends
You’re definitely not the only one.
If it is worthy, I save it as a draft and read it again before the end of the day with fresh eyes.
Yes if I’m upset I will save as draft wait 24 hours and reread before sending
Definitely relate to this. Especially if you started a new job during the pandemic and haven't met your colleagues in person. You're obviously just doing your job and if someone takes your messaging the wrong way, then that might be more of a reflection on them.
Yup
Yes all the time. It’s an anxiety/adhd thing. I just try to remember that tone does not come across in email so emotionally charged topics I will just ask for a phone call.
