Hi ladies!
I have my video interview with Liberty Mutual tomorrow for a licensed customer service role. Oddly, this morning I get an invitation to interview with Farmers for a claims customer service associate. I know the salary for the LM role, but not the Farmers role. Does anyone have experience with either? They are both great companies and I want to make sure I’m planting my feet with the right one. Thank you!Liberty Mutual Insurance Farmers Insurance Group

I'm so glad I took isotretinoin
I took accutane when I was on my second year of University and I don't regret it. When I was taking it my skin was super dry and also my lips. Then, I also was feeling super tired specially with a lot of pain in my back. But despite all these side effects I am glad I took it because it was the only solution that worked for my acne. Now I dont have any acne at all. So at the end for me it was definitely worth it.
I dont remember the exact dosage but my doctor gave me the dosage based on my weight and height and I took it for about 6 months.
No don’t take a acutane! Take spironolactone. It will help. It’s takes about three months to make changes, but your face will clear up. That, along with Tretinoin cream over your moisture at night. I had extremely bad acne. Saw a dermatologist for 12 years, and nothing worked. I was about to go on acutane when a lady giving me a facial told me about spironolactone. I went to a new dermatologist within two weeks and asked for a prescription.
It’s a blood pressure medicine, but omg does it work.
Spironolactone is a miracle drug. Within 30 days my skin changed and literally I have 1 pimple every like 3 months when I’m taking it. It’s insanely effective for hormonal acne which is what most women have especially when it’s adult acne.
I just completed my accutane treatment last December and my only regret is I didn’t take it sooner. I wasted so much money on topical treatments and peels. There are side effects but it’s such a highly regulated drug and requires close monitoring by your doctor. Just make sure you’re transparent about side effects during your appointments so your dr can change the dose if needed. Good luck
Topicals and diet don't work. Isotretinoin is one the best medications ever. See a board certified dermatologist and they will calculate dosage by body weight and length of treatment. Accutane can actually improve vision. Skin and hair will get dry on higher dose, but careful not to shock system with very high dose to avoid Telogen Effluvium 2 to 3 months later. New research suggests does not boost depression risk. Start taking ASAP.
That dose your doctor said seems good.
I’m on my 6th month for moderate hormonal acne and totally clear. No major side effects other than dry skin and some slight mood alterations (A little more anxious which accordingly to my doctor is common and will stop when I stop). I started at a low dose and knew I would stop if any side effects were unmanageable
Month 3-6 40
Absolute no regrets. Topicals and antibiotics did nothing but dry out my skin. I have two months left on accutane (been on it for 6 months) and have definite had the dry skin/chapped lips and been tired and anxious, but my skin looks amazing. Accutane can make other skin conditions flare up so I had a bit of eczema as my skin dried out, but all manageable with topicals. It’s also helped with my scalp oiliness and I don’t need to wash my hair as often. I haven’t noticed anything wrong with my vision etc.
I’ve struggled with acne on my face and body for 18+ years and I’m honestly so happy to have made the decision to go on accutane, it’s had a huge impact on my self confidence. It’s a commitment and can be tough but for me, it’s totally worth it.
I know this is a dated post, but thought I’d add comments for anyone who stumbles across the post like I did!
My dermatologist just told me that Accutane doesn’t do much for hormonal acne - that it would come back over time.
27F here. I’d been on Benzaclin for five years and it worked really well until it did, so I switched around 23 YO. I’ve now been on spironolactone (50mg a day for five years now) and tretinoin (0.09% from Curology for two years now; ramped up over time and took about 8 months for me to see a difference) and it’s been helpful, but recently have been getting more hormonal flares. I just switched to Winlevi (2x daily) and Twyneo (starting at 1x every other day, but plan to work up to 1x daily) two weeks ago, and it’s been working really well for my skin.
My derm did say that I probably wouldn’t purge and would transition quickly to these because I’ve been on spiro and tret already, and Winlevi (as a hormonal acne topical) and Twyneo (with benzoyl and tret) are very similar. Whereas for normal folks starting from a non-tret or non-hormone blocking medication probably would take 6+ months to see an impact from either topical. I’m still on spiro for the next month or two but our goal is to phase it out and replace entirely with the Winlevi.
OP, it sounds like you’ve already given strong topicals a shot so I’m adding this more for others who are considering them!
Gotcha. My derm said that once you stop tret, you have to build back up to it, so my (uneducated non MD) hunch is that you just went too high too fast? I’m not familiar with Fabior foam so can’t say much there, but maybe cutting back to every other day for a little bit until you adjust would be best… and yeah I definitely think moisturizer first helps!
I thought about it more and looked through old photos - I was definitely a bit irritated/red even with the slow, every-few-days ramp on tret for two months. So you might just need more time to get back into it, even if you used it back then.
I probably would give it another three months before switching to something like Accutane... the reality is that you won’t see immediate results with anything so I personally might try to give this one some more time if it’s non hormonal acne you’re targeting.
Absolutely no regrets! I think the only regret is why did I not take it sooner. I have been acne free for over 4 years with the occasional bump here and there. My skin did get dry and my acne flared up while I was on accutane. But that’s part of the process. I used to visit my dermatologist bimonthly while I was on accutane. I also took Vitamin D shots during this process because my derma mentioned that Vit D deficiency can cause acne. Maybe you want to check this out with your doc
