Anyone here 'retire' from Google? What was your first few months like? I've just retired and I've never felt so much freedom and potential. I'm meeting with folks every day to discuss new things to do and books to read. So many people in Xooglers are actively pursuing their careers. I'm looking for folks that are doing the opposite: trying to find something that isn't directly career related (e.g. mentoring, teaching, working in nonprofit sector)

I've spent a lot of time on the "dev" side, including stints as a team lead and currently sit as a technical architect. What are some ways to get more involved in ops so that I can pivot to a DevOps-oriented role?

Got an offer for PgM L3. I have 4 years of consulting experience at a big4. Is this normal? I feel like I’m being pushed backward / low balled. Thoughts on rejecting and waiting for 6 months / one year for an L4 role?

How many roles did you apply to before securing a an interview? I applied to ~10 roles in the past 6 months, got 1 interview last December (didn’t go well and didn’t clear the first round HM interview) — should I continue applying? I have a referral btw!

What’s the typical timeline between an on-site interview with multiple members to receiving feedback? Recruiter has been very responsive until after my on-site happened two weeks ago, when I was told I would hear back within the next week or so. A friend of mine who is a Product Manager in Google Ads claims he makes 1.75m$. Is that even possible? Graduated 9 years back and 8 years of Ads experience at Microsoft and Meta. Don’t think this comp in any world is possible, but wanted to double check! What would be a range of the amount this person earns?

Finished my interviews and expecting an offer very soon (this or next week). Is it too late to apply to other Google roles that I might be interested at this point? Would it be frowned upon?

Do interview questions at google, especially for S&O roles lean more towards asking about past experience (tell me about a time when) or hypothetical (what if abc happened)? I don’t have a strategy / ops background (I’m coming from finance) but I’ve studied a lot of case studies etc and think I could do great in hypothetical and case study questions. But maybe not the past experience questions, because I just haven’t run into all these scenarios

I had a question for you all. Do interviewers give their feedback and rating (or score) before your “package” being sent to HC? And if there is a bad or lower rating in one of your interview, does the “package” still get sent to HC knowing that it may not pass (60% possibility).

Hello, in McKinsey my official title is ‘Expert’, which is equivalent exactly to Engagement Manager (do exact same thing as EM, and being evaluated the same as EM). In my resume, I wrote Engagement Manager. When doing background check later, will they be too particular on the title of Expert / engagement manager?

How long does the team match process generally take and is there any hope of matching if you don't match with the first batch of 2 or 3 HM's?
