We do, through world vision. Sponsor a child in Uganda. Feels very rewarding, especially when we get the hand written messages from them.

I don’t know exactly how much is going to the child, but, we have family in UG who have visited the child and his family, and the family confirmed that they’re receiving monthly payments as well as access to benefits (coaches, subsidized groceries at specific locations etc.). We contribute $100/month, which goes a LONG way in UG. 3 meals for an adult in UG is ~6K UG Shillings, which is ~$1.5.

What are our thoughts about physically fighting a belligerent woman as a man? Genuinely curious, I'm a Male and had a woman get physically aggressive with me yesterday and I could tell she was about to throw hands. Luckily the situation was de-escalated. But it got me thinking I have no idea what I would've done if she out her hands on me... My personal opinion used to be never put my hands on a woman unless my child or family is in danger or if she had a weapon But now Idk anymore

Ladies how do you keep your sex life from not dying when you have a newborn? We had sex maybe twice the entire course of my pregnancy (at the beginning, I bled a little after sex so the doctor asked us to cool ourselves a bit lol) and with our baby here we hardly have the time or mood to do it. We have our baby in our room (and will probably have him until he’s a year old) and I don’t feel like doing it when the baby’s beside us. Looking to hear what you ladies have done to keep it alive!!!

We had new neighbors move in across the street a few months ago. A couple with a child of about 7 years old who clearly has a cognitive disability of some sort (I suspect autism). I’m becoming concerned about him. He seems to spend a good amount of time alone outdoors. He often flags down passers by to chat. I thought perhaps his parents kept an eye on him through the window, but today he was hanging on a neighbor’s front stoop for a good half hour. I went over to talk to him and see if (con’t)

Our nanny takes my 7 month old out for one, sometimes 2, long walks every day (weather permitting). Love the idea of fresh air every day but its often for several hours at a time and he always returns home crying bc she's pushed him to his limit between feedings. She brushes it off saying hes just fussy which kind of irks me. Im also concerned that he's spending too much time strapped in a stroller. Is it reasonable to ask her to take shorter walks? Am I overreacting?

Just got an offer at ACN as a Strategy Manager and HR made it clear that parental leave was 2 weeks fully paid for men. Theoretically up until 12 weeks is covered by NY State ($900 weekly). What would you do? Have you seen men take a few months off for parental leave in consulting even if unpaid?

Long story short - my nanny has many conservative values - mom shaming breastfeeding in public, gender specific roles, considering boys better than girls etc. it never bothered me before and I have learned to co exist with her however now my toddler is speaking and understanding more I am worried about him being influenced by her. Further she also has comments against my SO being too involved parent & calling out son as cutie, hugging toddler etc as he is a boy. Contd..

Female 🐠 that have divorced. Were you able to recover, especially financially? Looking back would you stick it out? I would primarily be supporting our child since I earn more. (2) For internal transfer to Chief of Staff, why those teams don’t promote their own Strategy & Op folks? (3) For BizOps internal promotion, there are not many Director positions. (4) For leaving Google, I don’t know where people usually go… Please share your thoughts / correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks!
