how do you respond to being asked what your current salary is during an interview for a higher position? not located in NY.
Constantly hearing keeping money just siting in the bank isn’t a good idea and I should have my money “working for me”. So for someone who knows nothing about investing (other than having a 401k and opened a Roth recently), where to begin with investing/where else should I put my money? Stocks require caution due to independence requirements at my current firm.
Is December full of account teams going out for long boozy client lunches, congratulating themselves on the work that the creatives have bust their guts and spent countless overtime hours creating - or is this just my agency? I don’t expect a thanks, it’s my job, but this is just a bit of a slap in the face.
Does anyone have advice for working with a client with an extreme language barrier? My client is very nice but English is his second language, I don’t think he’s understanding most of what I’m saying, and he doesn’t provide any of the information I ask for. I tried to escalate this to the PM who suggest I adjust my communication style. Other than learning a second language, I’m not sure what I can do here.
Hey everyone, I have a BSc degree from a semi-target university in the United Kingdom, and I currently have around 2 years of strategy consultancy experience at a Big 4 in one of Africa's most competitive economies. I'm looking to step into consulting in Dubai/ Abu Dhabi (MBB, Tier 2, boutiques, etc.). Any referrals? Thanks
Me: I've been working 14 hr days non-stop. Employer: We've all been working hard. It's a tough time for the industry. Me: It's not sustainable and I'm burning out. I need help. Employer: Totally get it. We are understaffed so we need you to be flexible about taking on more responsibilities. Me: If I'm taking on more responsibilities, would my compensation be able to reflect that increase? Employer: It's tight this year. Economy/pandemic etc. Me: I'm leaving. Employer: *surprised pikachu face*
Can anyone tell about Bank of America Role hierarchy? I got offer in BOA as Software Engineer II B, Band 6 (Total experience - 5 years). Is it good for my YOE?
For those who got an interview from Wharton, did you use an admission consultant? Was it a game changer?
Are stub years supposed to give Holiday bonuses to their assistants? I haven’t even met mine, dunno if it would be weird.
I feel like Facebook needs to be removed from “FAANG” status and replaced with Salesforce, SAANG, or some other arrangement of the letters. Does anyone else feel this way?
How comparable is DE comp at FAANG… or MAANG.. to SWE? I’d imagine less, but is it considerably less TC wise?
Negotiating a raise when changing departments internally (new department is generally higher paid)...any tips?
How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. Went to a good-but-not-Ivy school. What qualifications and experience are FAANG companies looking for when hiring mid-level PMs? Can I break in at mid-level from here?
Any firms with good parental leave policies? Or are most through short-term disability or only partial pay?
Just found out my grandma has Covid. Her symptoms are mild now but I’ve heard that they can intensify later on for older people. Does anyone have any experience with this and if so, how did it play out?
