Anyone here use some devils lettuce to help with sleep? My go-to when I’m on a string of sleepless nights has been to first try teas & melatonin, then drinking the next night if that doesn’t work. I took a small hit of some medical last night before bed and slept for 8 hours.

How do you respond to all the negativity of childless people? I get that they are not the norm and trying to defend their decisions, but I get so sick of hearing how “amazing” the personal and financial freedoms are and the good life I give up by having kids. Hi Fishes, This is in regards with my resignation. I have resigned on 22nd March (LWD : 22 June ) on medical grounds. Since then, my hr has asked for my prescriptions and medical certificates to give me an early release. But yesterday, She is stating that my lwd is revised to 18th April with a clause that since my release is on medical grounds I can't join any other orgs before 22june. Have you ever negotiated a severance? Company ended my employment and wants me to sign a mutual non-disparagement, waive suing them, etc. but they didn't offer me any money. They are fully in the wrong, it's a disability related issue. My options are 1. Sign 2. Refuse to sign 3. Try to negotiate. 4. Sue them (contingent on attorney taking the case). I'd prefer to negotiate, but not sure that's realistic.

In terms of timekeeping, I tend to make a note of when I log in and when I log off, and then do my best to divide the total hours worked among the various matters that I worked on. I do take into account extended breaks (very few on average)…is this normal? I have a colleague in a different practice group that uses timers religiously. They don’t work for me, mainly because I do bounce around on tasks from matter to matter given the nature of my practice.

I’m at the point that I start trembling every time I get an email alert. It’s the little things piling up that is getting to me. The to do list full of, “send emails to X about Y,” “follow-up re this,” “revise the 100 small things the baby lawyer drafted.” Tasks that might take 15 minutes to an hour individually, but all together it’s a lot. I’m the bottle neck. I’m the one who needs to move these things along. But there’s always something bigger and more urgent. Nothing’s ever FINISHED.
