Hello! I’m new to fishbowl and wanted to make my first post. I’m currently in the process of transitioning out of the Air Force and looking for a skillbridge opportunity in project management, preferably located in Tampa, Florida. A few companies I have on my list are Accenture, Raytheon Technologies Corporation and JPMorgan Chase What are everyone’s thoughts on those companies and how military friendly they really are?

GI Bill will cover all of tuition. Housing allowance equivalent to that for a married E5 for the zip. And some sort of book stipend of $1000/year or something.
MBA is no different than undergrad when at a public school in that they’ll cover they’ll fully cover the tuition of in-state public schools.
You should also check out what the school does for Yellow Ribbon. Look into both UNC Chapel Hill the university and the school of business. Many universities have different YR scholarships based on the college you are studying at: law school, biz school, etc.. bottom line is that you shouldn’t be paying much out of pocket between GI Bill and YR, if they offer it.
Agree with PwC1. UNC is a public school so 100% of tuition is paid for. Check yellow ribbon to see if/what the school will contribute. Essentially, it should be just about free if not free.
I went to the school down the road so your BAH will be around $1400/month but you only get paid for the portion of time you are actively taking classes (ex: you don’t get paid over holiday breaks) so you will average about $1k/month.
OP, the cap applies to private schools not public.
Excellent!!
Make so get in writing that they’ll move you to the mba cohort if that’s your reason for getting an mba. I know some people who thought they’d get moved to the mba cohort but didn’t go through advisory scholars and weren’t realigned.
Also MBA cohort converges with regular cohort as you get more senior and pay is the same at the director level. So depending on your current level the difference might not be much in 3 years as you continue to promote.
This is very interesting as I thought it was an automatic process once you graduated from a targeted school MBA. Currently an Associate and thought this was a no-brainer move since I’m close to UNC Chapel Hill.
Thanks for the feedback! For some reason I was under the impression that there was a 26k/yr cap.
Nope! That’s the beautiful thing about schools like Berkeley Haas, Ross, and other really high quality public MBA options.
As others have mentioned yellow ribbon is available. Shoot for a higher ranked school if you can (nothing wrong with UNC though)
Not sure how accurate these claims are about MBA programs being fully covered by VA benefit because they're public.
These programs may not have much or any out of pocket cost, but it's because of the school putting up money through Yellow Ribbon or other programs.
Pretty sure if you’re were within 2 or 3 years of getting off active duty you qualify for in state tuition everywhere, so wouldn’t need yellow ribbon to cover the out of state portion.
