I went to offer stage with CIA a few years back and did not accept. Be prepared for a massive pay cut and a roughly 12-18 month interview process. You will have to go to DC multiple times to interview plus meet with a psychologist and take a few aptitude tests.

My dad was a secret service agent, so I grew up around a lot of CIA/FBI as well. It’s not as cool as it seems.

OP, what are you specifically wanting to know? The average profile for any of those groups is extremely loyal to the US - you may see that as a plus or minus. You’ll spend a lot of time away from home, though in all of the organizations you’ll have more say in that part after several years. Very, very type A. Interview process takes many months, and they speak to everyone - elementary school teachers, family, etc. Many come from military backgrounds. Otherwise the requirements are different depending on what you’re wanting to do exactly. CIA has a heavier focus overseas. FBI does more domestic work. A lot of the work is slow and tedious, with few “exciting” moments. Very bureaucratic. CIA has the smarter people compared to the FBI.

Odds are you’re going to be a paper pusher with a clearance who can’t talk about their work with anyone outside of work and have glacial professional progression. You’re a cog of a very large and largely inefficient machine. The odds of you coordinating the first military units into Whatever-stan or running HUMINT operations in Bangalore are near impossible unless you fit into very specific demographics, which you as a professional slide monkey likely don’t possess.

Deloitte PPMDs, I can't figure out why D would not just reduce the number of temporary visa workers under H1B program vs. firing 5% of its workforce that are probably mostly US citizens. My SM told me that I have to be conscious of racial diversity when selecting a candidate for my project team. It seemed like they were very very careful with their language. Does this mean I have to pick a URM? My project is already majority URM, so wouldn’t adding another URM make it less racially diverse?
