Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.

I just lateraled as a first year associate in a specialized finance practice with one main partner and a handful of mid levels. The practice group is actively hiring laterals. But as the only junior associate so far, I don’t have very many people to ask for help, and I have a lot of questions about how to do my work, whether it’s okay to respond to an email in a certain way, etc. The partner is disorganized and requires a lot of follow up before he reviews or answers me. How do I manage this?

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. Everyone in nyc let’s start a petition to the mayor. Rents are out of control with people at $120k being forced to pay $2800 for studios. This is illegal.

I’m reading the requirements online and it’s 1) get doc notarized, 2) get doc certified by a county clerk (who is this??) 3) get doc apostilled by a Secretary of State (who is this??) then 4) get doc legalized by embassy (Vietnam, if that helps).
