5. Quit and join/create a startup and then apply

How much hours are you guys clocking I am at niche consulting firm (no! Not KPMG) and work is just insane with everyday looking like 9am to 12am (or more). It feels I am putting hours of IB and getting salary of MC 😞

From someone considering transitioning from IB to consulting because of how mind numbingly boring wfh has become and how much I know MBB look after their people.

What’s the difference between pay-off letters and UCC-3s? I though pay offs were for accounts, whereas UCC-3 (obviously) are for liens. Partner is asking for both for all liens that popped up in lien searches

For the junior associates out there, I’m a 2020 call and am convinced that I’m taking a lot of time while working on deals. I’m also not really sure how my efficiency compares to other associates as I’m the only junior in the group. The junior partner I work with primarily always tells me to rack up my hours but I’m also afraid of looking inefficient with the more senior partners. Does anyone ever write down their own time? Or is ashamed of how long it takes to draft say a direction to pay?

What's the biggest difference between a junior associate and mid-senior associate in transaction groups? If a junior wants to grow into a strong junior-senior associate (if we take years out of the equation), what does that junior need to demonstrate?

I feel like I am so inexperienced in my job that everything takes so long to complete and get used to. Hence, I constantly feel guilty that I am spending a lot of time on my tasks and I am not adding enough value especially given the cost that clients pay for our time.
