Anyone here who went from a National firm to big 4 for a stint —Worth it or not?

Are the roles at firms like Interbrand and Lippincot analogous to Big 4? I.e. is a director at KPMG or Senior Manager at EY a director/SM at Interbrand? Looking to apply and would appreciate insight.

I’m an audit S2 becoming an m1 in the coming months. Any introductions to Big 4 advisory recruiters would be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t really been enjoying being an industry accountant. After 4 years in B4 audit and 1.5 in industry I’m really starting to think about going back to maybe a GT, RSM, or BDO type firm

Which one to choose? Choosing others would mean I will be out of Big 4, but other firm offers are juicy in the role and pay, hence the oscillation

Has anyone worked at a small federal consulting firm before? Any pros or cons?

Hi, I am basically the only corporate attorney in a small firm. I am a corporate generalist so I have broad experience (corporate governance, independent k agreements, stock/asset purchases, other general counsel work for clients). I deal with small acquisitions so not considered really m&a as the ones big law doe (my due diligence is minimal in most). I would love to learn more complex m&a but not sure how and I want to better market myself out for a lateral move. Appreciate any advice! Thanks

Career progression for PM roles in Tech?

I’m on track to be qualified for a Program Manager, Talent/HR/OD position at a tech firm in the next couple years. I understand the pay is solid ($130k+ salary depending on exp. and location) but I’m curious about career progression.

I am looking for job in manual testing. I have 4 years of experience in area of software testing.
I have knowledge of different phases of testing.(Functional Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing And UAT Testing).
Well versed with Test documentation (Test case preparation, Test planning, Test summary Report, defect report. And expertise in Bug reporting and bug tracking process.
Experience of API testing using Postman tool.
Working experience in jenkins and onsite deployment.

8 weeks left in my notice period and company is throwing in new projects for me to work on “while they’ve got me” (8 years in company, longest tenure second only to founders). I’d be able to produce something but not to a great standard, and I wouldn’t be able to see campaign through. 90% capacity and heart’s just not in it.

Can I decline? Should I? How? Or recommend to give to my replacement when we hire them?

(Key reason for resignation is burnout.)

2 yrs at big4, left for industry with 50% pay increase but I don’t like my job (it’s not as bad as audit but bad in different ways). Not sure where to go from here. Not a single job posting I can read and think “I want that job”. I’m a low-motivation person who just lucked into a good-paying job and now I feel stuck here

This is the 2nd company that rejected me after the 2nd round of interviews. Latest one left a bitter taste as I felt I was doing good during the interview process and felt I was really a good fit. On to the next one.

When getting your job offer, are companies asking you to move to the new city immediately or work from a different state until the office is opened? I received a job offer, but don’t want to move if offices aren’t going to reopen soon.

Currently a second year associate in audit and looking for - as ridiculous as it sounds - better pay and better hours. I really like audit but I have only been with the firm for a little over a year and i’m burnt out and worse, starting to lose passion for it. I think the long hours are just not for me. Any recommendations of industries/ careers where an audit experience fits well? (As a side note, I’m considering changing practice within the firm, but wanted to look at all options).

What Big4 firm has the best wlb? I’m a staff 2 and hoping to make senior early. Just don’t know how I could reasonably do the rest of the 3 years or so with all of the hours. In audit for reference.

Is making 150k+ a year working ~50 hours a week a stretch? How many years out of college do you think this takes / what type of jobs or industries? I'm in a high COL city.

Do employers care where you went to college in industry and public a few years into your career?

I work for a top 15 firm & CPA but did go to a non-target. It's a really small commuter college.

I haven't felt like its impacted me but I can tell you there are very few grads from my college that work at top ten firms. Some firms don't have a single grad from my college based on searching linkedin.

Would industry look at it?

Would it be a faux pas to ask a recruiter to connect me with a recruiter for another area? Applied for a tax role and was turned down in favor of an internal candidate, but told to reach out if I found something I was interested in. I'm very interested in some data science roles, but wondering if the request would make me look undesirable. Ideally, I do want to pivot to data science.
