Anyone here with a good work life balance? Did you do something special? Or did your employer do something special to achieve it?

Surprisingly, I have it but it's because my work is pretty good and I work in a more research-focused role so deadines are not as crazy. I have been a bit more firm about not working late etc, which has also helped and I've voiced when I'm frustrated/stressed etc. I do have a manager who is more understanding than most, so that helps. Other depts are more stressed for sure.

I've found that being able to WFH has helped in this area tremendously. Having more freedom and flexibility actually ends up making me more productive, yet I feel like I have a better balance.

Hasn't your screen on time increased due to WFH?

I've stayed with the same company for two years. They know me. We have a good relationship. They also know what I'm capable of and have stopped trying to work me to death.

If you are expert in what you do, and you love your job then your WLB will be good in any company.

You should, but how this is related to WLB? I don't know what is your definition of growth which is not possible with WLB. Remember what your oldest family members say " Healthy mind can only reside in a healthy body" How you will grow if you don't have proper WLB?. If you don't believe that, you are actually a disaster for the company thinking you are doing good, but actually you will either leave the company soon or you will prompt another people to leave the company if you impose this to other.

My employer is very adamant about giving us a good WLB. We have every other Friday off in the summer and no meetings are allowed on Fridays.

Which company is this?

I work directly with the client and they are extremely punctual about time. No weekend work. Noone ever asks you to extend beyond 9 hours. Deadlines are very realistic.

Oh wow! I wish I had a client like this

What’s been the stupidest request by your client or boss?

So over the weekend my friends and I did a Zoom drag brunch using Snapchat’s filter plug-in. Today as I was presenting to my team, my contoured nose makeup turned on and I couldn’t turn off.

What is belit test in Deloitte? After interview during the pre hire survey they have send a link for this assessment. Will the offer gets rejected if we won't clear that and any idea about the passing score for deloite?

How do you compare offers with Equity RSUs vs. typical bonus structure? My first time interviewing with a company that offers RSUs. Which of these offers would be better? 1. 130k base + 20% bonus 2. 125k base + 56-75k RSU over 4 year period

Does anyone have any office-friendly Halloween costume recommendations for my team’s virtual happy hour? 🤔🎃👻

Seems obvious to me yet i still must ask to hear out the trade offs…. Non equity tech MD at a specialty business unit at MBB, or MD at a leading system integrator with public equity and significant total compensation increase? Feels like being a true MD and no second rate citizen status supersedes the MBB brand name if you’re not partner track.

How to answer this interview question from another big 4 recruiter “Why are you interested in switching. Don’t you see a future at your firm”? Especially if my firm is better in that area.

The day when you roll off a project from hell with the worst team ever.. 🍾🎉

How is work from home going, you ask?

Has anyone done an ADP project?

Got a job offer at a mid tier firm in another city, somewhat lower cost of living, 15% bump with sign on bonus. I’m an A2. My only concern is that I’m taking a step back from big 4 and missing out on opportunities to learn. If things don’t go well is it easy to come back?

Looking for advice. I have a few offers in negotiations for Senior IT audit role. My main motive is to get out of toxic work culture in B4 consulting and public accounting. Looking for better wlb, better work culture and decent compensation to make good living. Currently in TX making around 110K TC. 1. Children’s Place, Secaucus, NJ: Base-110K . Probable bonus of 3-5%. No relocation assistance or sign on bonus. Location is closer to all my friends and family (Continued)

26/NYC/4 years experience/56K. Already know I’m underpaid 🙄, question is how to make a big raise stick.

I’m struggling with quant on the gmat, ir, and sentence correction. I already took an online course and I’m trying to get my score up 50 points—any recs for a Tudor? And what strategies would you suggest to get the most out of my sessions. I’m trying to take the test within 30 days

Got an offer with the 10% salary bump I asked for but now I think I could have asked and got more. Any suggestions on what I should do? Is 10% worth the jump from Big 4 to Boutique ?

Mortgage rates: are these good? Trying to find the best with the lowest points. This home will be 5-7 year plan. Chase offered: 2.75% 1.57 points for 30 year or 2.8% .875 points for 30 year or 3.125%, no points for 30 year. Are these good? Gonna ask sofi next.

How much does Amazon pay for a Sr BI engineer role? Also has anyone successfully negotiated working from a different location like NYC when the role was posted for Seattle? Any inputs are much appreciated.
