Anyone here with experience in both Deloitte OT&T and Accenture Tech Consulting? Objective preference? Offers on table and currently deliberating. Won't say "Go!"

D2 I am because I am in strategy practice that's connected to tech and BPO where Acn is really strong, but if I were doing something that did not at all involve those two it would probably not be the case. People have been great and helpful and I would say internal tools are more advanced that D had a year ago. With that said I would say absolutely do not transfer to Acn HC. Deloitte has it figured out way better

like

Isn't ott HC?

Yes

Aren't those completely different things? HC since in MC practices by industry at Acn

I went from ACN doing tech to OT&T 10 years ago. ACN was good when I was young but Deloitte felt more mature and a better place career wise.

Depends on your interest really, but I joined Deloitte from ACN and there is a marked difference in caliber

D2 I went the other way and in the strategy work I do D can't even compete w Acn. With that said in most strategy projects D is stronger. Acn is stronger in most tech tho and digital. HC is absolutely better organized at D

@A1, I would agree with tech but disagree on digital. Deloitte Digital is top of the crop (ACN is close behind)

D2 we can agree to disagree on that. Accenture digital is more mature and has stronger infrastructure. Coming from Deloitte myself most of my friends who went to digital were on the bench most of the time and ended up doing TS&A and SI projects. Maybe things changed

Interesting definitely is not the case now. Are you happy about your move overall?

@A1 thanks for answering. I take it you're not in consulting for the long haul? MD vs partnership model and all that entails

Hi everyone, share your blindsided layoff stories below so I can feel a little bit better about mine.

Covered a managers meeting for her yesterday, was with some senior members of the marketing team. A director opens the call with “we are so sorry about the impacts the layoffs have had on your teams today…” then noticed I was in the call and said “we are still notifying others so best to keep it under the radar” …25% of my team was let go three hours later with no warning😬

Working on the PMP. I completed the formal PMP authorized Exam Prep course. Is the practice test within that course sufficient for practicing for the real exam?

Since it’s all covered by my firm, I was thinking of getting some sort of app with practice questions to supplement the official PMI course. Is that worth the time? If so, any recommendations?

Is it “easier” to make partner at T2 or Big 4? From what I’ve seen it seems like everyone gunning for partner at Big4 creates a hyper competitive environment and requires both politics and numbers. At T2 it seems like partner is given less politically and can be achieved as long as you hit the numbers.
