Hey all! A few questions to ponder on today: Does anyone have good examples of how employers are successfully creating team culture and community in a fully remote or hybrid environment? How does this translate to an employers brand? What types of culture-building events/perks would be meaningful for you?
For those who have onboarded remotely, have you found it difficult to connect with and embody your new company’s culture? Culture is important to me and a big part of it was being with your coworkers and having meaningless chit chat
Service differences: Currently based at an army service component, which suboptimal. Could shift to similar roles at a Navy component or a geographic COCOM. Any thoughts on how the culture differs? Army culture where I am is lacking any ambition and is a bit soul destroying.

As an immigrant, I’m grateful for the opportunities afforded to me since moving to the USA. But, I must say, it still doesn’t feel like home after a decade. I still cannot wrap my mind around the gun culture, lack of universal healthcare and emphasis on education (critical thinking). I’m planning to leave in the coming year or so. COVID really made me realize that life is indeed short.
Hi all, I have been offered a job at Oracle India Development Center as Member of Technical Staff. The division is Server Technologies. Any views on the growth, work culture and hikes? How is it working there?
You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader, have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.
Looking for some advice.. I am a Tech Recruiter with over 10 years of experience in the agency world. I’m hearing some scary rumblings about my current company that I have spent my entire Tech Recruiting career with and I think I should start looking. Work/life balance, flexible schedule, unlimited time off, and great culture are most important to me. Any suggestions on where I should look/apply? I want to stay away from agency recruiting. Thank you!!

Truth be told I have never been through onboarding via remote. It’s a bit of a struggle. It’s taking forever to get access to certain resources and my assigned mentor is always underwater. How is everyone dealing with this? My manager seems hard to please in our first couple 1:1s.
Anyone have any recommendations for industry jobs to get into around the Midwest area? Considering Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield but really don’t know what’s out there for opportunities. Just trying to get out of PA. All advice welcome
How do y’all handle recruiters reaching out to you on LinkedIn asking to schedule a call to learn more about the company? In this case, it’s an advisory firm I’ve never heard of. Do y’all find it worth your time to answer these messages or have a call? I’m open to opportunities but ultimately, my interest in a position depends on the compensation, and I’m assuming that’s not appropriate to ask them that lol
I will be joining JPMorgan Chase, wanted to check if they support and sponsor further education(mba)? If so, what would be the eligible and acceptable criteria? Thank you.
My company misplaced my official approval notice since I transferred right around the beginning of the pandemic and we went into a lockdown. Lawyers and HR are saying that a copy will suffice and I don’t need my official notice. I’m still worried. Has anyone been requested to provide an official copy during the interview? To clarify I am trying to travel abroad for visa stamping and then come back.
