How much does a DevOps Engineer I make?
I can’t speak for UX or IT teams, but if you’re in customer facing roles like sales or service, the culture is garbage. We have a lot of opportunity to improve. Our schedules are rigid and it’s a lot of micromanaging with little to no opportunity for growth. I’m sorry to sound cynical here, but I came into the company thinking that my current role would serve to get my foot in the door of an amazing company where I could develop my career and pursue my interests, but honestly I just don’t think it’s possible at a company of this scale.
That’s awesome! I hope you have something amazing in your next chapter!!!
I am confused why people have an issue with me using the platform the way it was intended? I am on the market and want to gather as much information as I can about my options.
It’s similar to Adobe, Uber, Square.
It’s pretty chill IMO. I came from consulting and it’s just a lot better culture. Work itself is pretty interesting.
Both culture and type of work will vary from team to team.
All good, I wish I did know! Surprisingly (or maybe not idk) my experience is that we are pretty much SMEs in our individual team spaces and so there tends to not be a lot of overlap between different functions, especially the ones we aren’t exposed to on a daily basis. So being in ops I have very little idea of what UX is like and I’d be surprised if they knew anything abt ops for that matter.
Pretty nice work/life balance provided you learn to set your own boundaries. I find the culture very collaborative on the tech side at least.
It varies by department. In HWT. We have busy seasons. It feels like bliss some months and other months everyone is angry/grumpy, demanding, and sleep deprived.
