After nearly 6 years of tax in the UK, I’ve finally reached the point where I can’t handle feeling unfulfilled anymore. Going to travel the US and Canada for 6mo before a 2-year working visa in Canada to try and restart my career in something that makes me want to get out of bed in the mornings. Any recommendations of where to visit/ settle after 6 months? Have listed the standard things (Vegas, Grand Canyon, big cities) as I’ve only ever holidayed in NYC and Orlando before.

For those who submitted their I-485 application along with forms I-765 (work authorization) and I-131 (travel authorization), is it normal to get an approval for I-765 first without the I-131 approval? The EAD card I received stated that its not valid for reentry to the US. If this is typical, how long does it usually take to get the I-131 approved?

Does anyone know how soon one has lounge access after being approved for a travel card? I decided to go with the Venture X card, but wasn’t sure if I needed to have the physical card or if I could provide something else (maybe phone app) to get in.
I had an emergency come up and need to travel overseas in the next week or two. I will have several layovers, so having lounge access would be a life saver. TIA!

AA Platinum here. Just finished a 600 mile flight in economy; I didn’t want to request an upgrade and blow two 500 mile upgrades on such a short flight.

There were 4 open seats in First Class. How dumb of AA to just leave them open—surely there’s someone they could have offered it to! Even if not a low-tier elite like me, maybe the mom traveling with a kid? The service member in uniform? Someone!

This employee has now come back looking for a nearly 30% increase, citing a number of reasons that are not relevant to their situation. Any advice on how to approach? I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.
