Should there be laws around “emotional scamming”?

In cases where no clear crime has been committed (ie financial scam) but there has been significant emotional impact on victims. Been listening to a lot of astonishing podcasts on the subject (Hollywood Con Queen, Sweet Bobby, Sympathy Pains). There may be a level of financial fraud is involved, but it often pales in comparison to the level of sophistication in manipulating the victims for emotional gains.

Curious what others think.

Thank you for having this bowl.

What kind of exit ops exist for CMAAS/FAAS senior associates (i.e., 2-3 years exp)? Guessing they’d be identical to those for audit seniors? I’d like to leave now, but I’ve heard you need to stay till at least manager to get the more niche technical accounting / accounting policy roles.

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

Is it allowed to do take two full-time opportunities, one on t4 and other incorporated? I can manage both but not sure if it’s allowed legally. No moonlighting statement in contracts though.

Does anyone know the entry level salary for Project Manager at Epic Systems? Its located in Wisconsin. Thank you!

While I was on mat leave last year, we hired a contractor to be me and he’s still with us even though I’m back. I recently started approving his hours and just found out he’s getting paid $65/hr grossly, while I make $35/hr. Is this normal for contractor to make more than FTE?? I’m a little upset right now considering he’s doing like college entry level tasks and I’m over here doing a lot more.

Hello, is it unethical to accept a job offer (start date is next year July, right after I graduate) but still look for jobs? I won’t be actively looking, but there’s one company that’ll open recruitment in the spring semester and I really really want to apply and pursue that position. Please help, any advice or drop your personal experiences🫡

A company just reduced their offer after initial verbal offer was 'rejected' by comp team. Reasons were that it was higher than others at that level currently in the position. And that "This is the best they can do".

Thoughts on how to best counter this? This is a lowball.

Best place to find accurate market valuations? I’ve read over and over that self reporting sites like Glassdoor and Payscale aren’t accurate and not considered legitimate by large corporations when negotiating salary.

I was contacted today by our President saying the company is looking to “backfill” with current employees who have buying experience for the next 1-2 quarters. As I have said experience, he wondered if I’d be “willing to entertain” being one of those people. He mentioned extra money (no specific amount) and asked me to mull it over this weekend. How do I navigate this professionally, make sure to protect my time & work in my current role, and negotiate proper comp if I decide to accept? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Received an offer for 65k base salary and 15k equity for a RC in tech. What do y’all think?

Curious what Salaries are for Account Managers with 6 YOE and two different territories for the last four of those 6 years. No commission/bonuses ever given and no promotions since I took the position 6 years ago despite speaking up several times. COL raises at 1.5% and I now make 70k but at the top of my pay range. I’m starting to look for other jobs now because I’m fed up with having two territories without a raise for the extra work. I feel I should have been promoted to Senior AM long ago.

Hi ,
I'm a Marketing student and was recently offered part time internship positiom on the marketing team of really cool FinTech Venture Capital company .During the final interview , I luckily asked for their pay range for interns and almost fell to the ground when he said $30/hr min. I would have said $18/$20 if I hadn't asked him instead .The average student earns between $15-$20 it sounds really good but that's only an opening offer. Should I ask for a higher amount like $35 -$40?

How much are customer service advocates making?

I have my Bachelors & I accepted a job at a starter up healthcare tech company which is growing. When I accepted the position and salary I honestly didn’t know what to expect or how to negotiate a salary pay. I accepted the job and salary because it was more than my old job and I needed to get my foot in the door. I’ve been here for 3 months and I have found out I am getting underpaid than what other project coordinators are getting paid. 10k less than them. How should I ask for a salary adjust

Does anyone know the salary for a private banking operations associate for Morgan Stanley?

It’s one thing daydreaming about leaving your company and getting that 20-50% raise offer to stay…it’s another when you actually resign and get that offer. Becomes a lot harder to turn away from.

Not a question but very discouraged. I asked for a 20% raise and they came back with “ and all of my years at (won’t disclose yet) I have never seen a 20% increase approved”. I’m thinking well can you ask for fuck sake… ugh so over this.

Whenever you receive an offer, how long do you take / ask for to consider the offer & decide?

Currently I am working at a 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Veterinarian Hospital in Denver CO. I have a Masters in Health Administration, residency trained at a level 2 trauma hospital, & 9 years total experience in home healthcare, business consulting, corporate taxes and payroll, out patient surgery center operations, plastic and reconstructive surgery clinical operations, and nursing home administration. I am looking for a significant raise to match NMV. What are others in similar roles making?
