Anyone here work in the gaming industry? I've been thinking about trying to join the industry for awhile, but wasn't sure if there were good opportunities out there for a consulting skill set, could anyone share their experiences in the industry?

I was told by somebody who doesn't know shit about what we do to stop "acting" like I'm tired because I only work 9-5 and a lot of people work 12-16 hours in other fields.

I have an opportunity to become a fractional CMO for a startup that I really like. I have no idea what to charge hourly. I’m reading online $200/hr+ but that seems crazy to me. It would be a 1099 role.

Am I underselling myself if I charge $150/hour for 10 hours of work a week? I typically charge this for my existing freelance rates, but that is not for CMO work.

Been in-house four years and managed to skip agency thus far. Considering next steps and really I’m happiest doing the work (hands-on print and visual design, brand work, etc.). Just moved. WWYD next?

Weekly Hot Take. We need more arcades. Not like "Dave and busters" we need more old style arcades. There arent many in my area that are well known, it would be alot better for teens to have a place they can go if they aren't in an after-school program. I really just roamed the streets with my friends. Straight A student who had some after school stuff. It would hit 5 pm or a day when the programs didnt meet, we didn't have a space to be social.
