I’m getting ratioed by B4 :(. 140k out of college makes 160 not unreasonable

like

I’m fairly technical (R, Python, Tableau, Hadoop, Spark) but they definitely aren’t paying me for it

I’m making 140k for 2YOE. Big4 would never pay me that. I left Big4 for industry.

I'll be joining Microsoft's FRP next year, and I'm trying to establish a plan for my LT goals. From reading various threads, the consistency seems to be consulting->FAANG. I've heard that mobility into a Corp Strat role is feasible - just a matter of networking. Since I'll be starting at Microsoft and Strategy is something of interest, can anyone share their experiences if they have done this or know someone who has? Wondering what role an M7 MBA may lead to as well (considering). TIA!

Fishes need advice, I'm a M3 and my Partners have repeatedly told me that I am the strongest candidate for promotion this year, they haven't said it for sure though. Is it worth changing? what are your thoughts?

I’m currently a senior accountant and I mainly focus on accruals and expense analysis. Prior to this role I was in State & Local Tax. I wasn’t sure if tax is where I wanted to be at the time especially because I heard you can get pigeonholed. I actually kind of miss the work that I used to but also found tax can be very mentally challenging. I’m struggling with trying to decide if I should go back to tax or maybe use my current experience to go into FP&A or a Finance related role. Advise please!

Wanted to try a new of being open to exit opportunity. Being the only expert around? Hey everyone, I’m looking to head in-house in the next 12 months, but I work in a specialized area with v few openings. I just noticed a job posting for a senior counsel role at a startup. This would be my first in-house role so I was wondering if anyone could speak to their experience as the only expert/specialist in their area at a company? Recognize it’s a massive growth opportunity but also scared of the big jump in responsibility/no safety net.

My (white) manager consistently gives me feedback that I’m “very literal” when doing assignments. She asks for something, I do what her directions say, and she tells me “oh you took that very literally. You’re very literal.” Obviously consulting is subjective and we’ve all had managers give vague directions leading to multiple iterations of work, but at what point do I push back? I’ve also noticed her say this about several black colleagues including clients and the senior mgr on the project.
