Anyone hiring for remote strategy roles?

YOE: 5 (2.5 strategy consulting) with MBA

Would like your advices. Awhile back I applied and was video interview for a position at a competitor. I suspect I wouldn’t get it based on the vibes they gave off. Now randomly I get an email from one of their recruiter asking if I was interested to apply for a similar position. Should I even bother? It might be with the same people.

It's been a year working at Oracle now. Should I switch or stay for a year more. The technologies seem outdated. Instead of Java, I'm mostly editing xml files. Most development is UI based using JDeveloper. I feel like I'm not learning enough(not learning tech that'll be useful elsewhere).@oracle

I’m flying from NY to SFO then to Taiwan with United. I have a 2.5hour layover. At SFO does anyone know if we have to exit the domestic terminal then switch to international? Will we have to take our checked luggage out and re-check it in?

A guy who used to be on my team resigned a few weeks ago for another opportunity. I ran into his new boss socially and told them I was really impressed with how this guy was handling the drug bust and battling his heroine addiction during this career change. It shows real grit. Hate getting yelled at by partner as a first-year for something that wasn’t my fault… I do not know what I am doing and the senior was giving me direction and reviewing my work… I literally was just following instructions 😭

Questions for my fellow EAs out there:
1. How many of you travel for your job? If so, are there stipulations?
2. My team is having an 2-day offsite meeting in another city and many folks outside of our team are all traveling in for it. Some are only attending for an hour. I have about a year's experience in the role but I keep getting rejected after final rounds even when I have people pulling for me within the department, consistently improve my elevator pitch, ask plenty of relevant questions, try to connect with interviewers, etc.

In every interview when they ask “why strategy” I never feel like my answer is sufficient enough. Even if it’s a straight fwd, honest answer... is there something they’re looking for?

How often do you have downtime at work? My projects come in hot and then quiet, sometimes for weeks. I keep myself occupied but was wondering if that’s standard for this industry.
