HR discussion was completed and got an confirmation email that I've cleared all rounds on Jan 10th. HR was mentioning that the hiring process is on hold. It's been a month already and HR is asking to wait for 1-2 weeks everytime. Will I get offer letter?

I had an interview where the interviewer was acting extremely weird-almost as if she was trying to deter me from wanting the position. I shared about it in another bowl and many people suggested reaching out to the recruiter. After a lot of anxiety and overthinking, I reached out. I reiterated my interest and specifically said the interview was bad in my opinion. What are your thoughts?? Will I just be ghosted?

Help! A recruiter for a tech company reached out re: a Product Strategy role and we had an intro call. She asked for my expected compensation and I gave what I thought was a reasonable range (happily above what I’m making now). Realised after the call that comp for a Director of Product Strategy is approx. £10k ($13k USD) higher than the max of my stated range. Have I totally screwed myself? Is there any way to reframe the conversation moving forward?

How to build transferable skills as a Sales Engineer to pivot to a industry role?

Just accepted a position as a Claim Specialist (Salaried) at State Farm in Atlanta. Start date is pushed out couple months from now. Does anyone know if the company pays twice a month, or biweekly? Forgot to ask the recruiter.

I am trying to move from my farming role back to an outbound prospecting position. I have a couple screening calls for some pretty awesome companies and I would love some pointers on how to beat the objection that I have only been in my farming role since June. How would you sell the fact you want to go back to SDR, I am sick and tired of non revenue generating activity and miss having a list to attack.

Has anyone else really struggled with compulsion and anxiety/doing things impulsively? My entire life I’ve always gotten away with doing things by the skin of my teeth and feeling a rush from getting away with things. For example, it started with waiting until the last second for assignments and still getting decent grades. As a 24y/o I feel it’s manifesting in toxic ways and I’m now stretching myself to my last dollar or being compulsively late just to feel that rush. I think I need help.

Has money in litigation finance dried up these days?

At what point do you begin to feel numb (if ever) when you’re done trial and prepping for another trial in a span of 3 months, while mains full caseload of other active litigation cases? Should I be worried that I’m going from engaged and stress to numb and slightly indifferent? Or is this what it feels like to power through? I can’t gauge it anymore? And can’t impose judgment one way or another either.

Trying to get ahead of my caseload feels like trying to climb a hill made of loosely-packed pebbles. No matter how much I scrabble, I’m sliding closer and closer to the bottom.

How do you get caught up (or even ahead) when you’re always behind? Assume that all things that can be offloaded have been offloaded. I cannot take one more all nighter trying to get a motion drafted two days before the deadline because I couldn’t get to it earlier.

I’ve been getting invaluable experience at a boutique litigation firm. The only things is, the firm hasn’t evolved with work culture. The official policy is that everyone WFH one day each week with no choice of which day. Sometimes I’ll work from home more than one day a week and when I do, I feel paranoid because when I’m in the office, the partners will “walk the halls.” I would appreciate more flexibility and have a big law interview scheduled. Is this worth leaving? Btw, I’m a first year.

In a tiny (only $52,000 in damages) litigation matter that should have been a simple trial on a simple issue (breach of contract), OC has filed 9 unsupportable motions, 7 of which had prayers for fees, including one claiming an ethics violation by me. All overruled. OC's latest brief in opposition to our motion to compel is a 13-page, babbling, word-salad mess with 126 pages of exhibits. It does not address our arguments and any 1L could have written a better brief. Judge should punish her!

I recently joined a firm doing general lit. The position was marketed as a match to my skill set. I’m doing nothing related my strengths and I’m languishing intellectually and professionally. In 12 months I’ve gone from loving law to wanting to quit the law altogether. I don’t have a book at all because my network consists of broke millennials and the pandemic makes it hard. Marketing told me the areas I want to practice aren’t big money makers. How can I find a better match?

I have a deadline to respond to a Motion for SMJ in 1 1/2 weeks. I just found out that my grandparents who I haven’t seen since the start of the pandemic will visit this week. I want to spend as much time as possible with them but it will be hard with my response due. I really don’t want to tell the Court that I am seeking an extension for personal reason, what would be a good reason to provide? I clearly don’t want to misstate anything but is there some general, vague language that can be used?

Very broad question here- but can you tell me what you do and if you like it? I’m a first year associate and I don’t like the practice areas I’m in right now. (PI plaintiffs- mostly med mal). I honestly am just not interested in going through medical records/deposing doctors for the rest of my career. I know I want to stay on the litigation side but that’s about it. I worked for an insurance defense firm in school and didn’t love that either. TIA!

Anyone else think that court deadlines are the reason for a lot of stress? A 14 day deadline means basically 7 days to get something drafted and to a client. Wonder if courts should consider this and the stress effect it has on litigants and their counsel.
