This may not be a good fit for here, so if there’s a better place to post please let me know. It appears I have a good shot of getting a promotion soon. My manager can’t officially offer it yet, but gave me an idea of the raise. I haven’t had to really negotiate before since my last raise came from a move and they beat my ask. Basically I have no idea how to negotiate for the best raise without coming off ungrateful. We have a hiring freeze so I’m really fortunate and don’t want to mess up.

Hi fish. I have a question about applying to startups. I’ve been at my current firm (out of UG) for 2.5 years and absolutely love it — awesome team that sticks up for me, working directly with VPs, engaging and rewarding work. I’m currently on a great project which is another year-long commitment.

However, I just found my dream job at a startup that I very strongly believe in. Afraid the role will be more competitive if I apply in a year based the startup’s potential. Eventual goal is MBA ...

After months of applying, being disappointed and miserable at my job....I accepted an offer as an IT Recruiter! My salary increased by almost $11k and I get uncapped commission. This is a huge milestone for me and I feel very proud of myself at 22.

This my be a weird question but I just started getting into watches. I want to make my first small purchase soon but I need to measure my wrist or do some sort of watch sizing. Do I just buy a measuring tape and do not myself or go to a store? Also, how much does it usually cost? I saw on Macys site that they charge $15 for watch sizing. Not saying I’m going to Macys but is that normal rate?
