How many years of experience do you have? What are the billable requirements?
That’s definitely an interesting situation. The midsized firm i was recently at was paying 1st year associates 75-80k. I’d say 70-90 is probably around the average.
Was a litigation associate at a small firm (10 partners, 2 associates). 75k plus 10k max in bonus (up to 7k based on billables, rest discretionary).
Also depends on industry focus (if transactional) and geography
Somewhat unique situation: family business, worked there since I graduated high school (every summer throughout undergrad and sometimes remotely), went to law school and worked multiple jobs in the field throughout law school, got JD/MBA, now I’ve been out for slightly over a year as a lawyer. No billable requirements - set up as base salary plus commission. Once the attorney earns more than X times their pay, they get a percentage of everything above that. Just wondering if what I’ve annualized is somewhat average.
Thanks for the feedback!
