SFO 🎏, can I walk from terminal 3 to terminal 1 without having to clear security again? #newhere
Thoughts on ARK, MCO and NEO?
I just started trading Forex. I live in San Jose Ca. The markets just closed at about 1:30ish and I couldn’t sell. Is this normal?
Anyone else stuck on the plane from DCA to ORD?
Gah! Red eye from SEA to IAH.....
EY or PwC San Jose audit? I'm considering a transfer and would like to learn more about the market/office. Thanks!
If anyone encounters/finds a black leather Tumi backpack at LGA Terminal C... near gate 39 please respond to this post so I can contact you
How do to get a free upgrade from hertz sfo?
Where should a mid 30s gay couple live in the bay area if one of them will work in Mountain View when offices reopen? We are used to living and working in big cities w/o a car (NYC, Chicago), but that doesn't seem possible in SF/SJ without a long commute time. Other guy is looking for a job in tech, but currently works remotely for a firm with offices in downtown SF and San Jose.
Any one else here do tenant work in NYC, or come from a legal services background? My S/O has 15 years of experience at the big legal services providers (LAS, UJC, BxD) and has finally taken my advice to just go for it and start his own practice. Native Spanish speaker. From what I’ve seen here, having a niche area is good so I think he’s well placed. Any guidance on transitioning into this space?
Not sure what it's like everywhere else, but there seemed to be extra security at MCO today. Not sure if it's standard procedure here, but all security lines pass a bomb sniffing dog
Living in San Francisco feels like a transaction, in the sense people focus on their careers and forget about their personal life. Where should people move to if they want a change?
How bad is the ATL airport today?
Moving to NYC soon - how bad is the commute to catch a flight out of EWR? Is LGA much better?
Hi Fishes-- need your suggestion, WIPRO Vs Cap gemini.. YOE 13 yrs. Wirpo - 26lpa (10% variable pay) + 1L JB and amending my H1B petition. Capgemini - 27lpa (10% variable pay) , no JB. How is Barclays account in CG. Comparing on WLB and job security.
My husband has a strong sense of duty towards his parents - I’ve been very encouraging of it - making sure he has the freedom to be there for his family and parents in whatever way they need or want (e.g. sleeping over at his parents at least 2 nights, attending family events, making sure he goes to all their doc appts, maintaining a relationship with his sisters and their children, etc). His family and I are not from similar backgrounds so we have our struggles so I keep a distance (more below)
I have a few years under my belt + just went Agency side and I can’t tell you how much of a “god shot” it is to find this bowl after meeting W/ my sponsor to talk about agent drinking culture
Any moms have the Caraa baby bag? FTM here and debating between the large vs medium. Large seems pretty big but not sure what to expect with first baby and how much I will need to lug! Just wanted to see if there were any opinions!
How does catalyst partner hire at PWC works? are they same as partners direct admits or internally promoted? is it worth leaving one big 4 as a equity partner to join pwc as a catalyst hire?
Any tips on how to ask for a big raise that takes my title change into account? Went from assistant to director in 1 year and was not compensated for the title change. I did get an assistant however and the promotion approved (I had to ask for it). I’ve now been in the director role for 1 year and feel it is fair to ask. I’m making only 5% more than when I started as a marketing assistant.
So wfh guidance is to be scrapped. Should we expect companies to ask employees to go back to the office? Will Deloitte's "work from home forever" plan still be possible?
I’m struggling to see the value of a MBA as a consultant. If you come back to consulting, you lose career progression. You can’t really go to PE/VC from MBA with a consulting background only. A MBA will not help you get any job in tech any more than your consulting experience would. Same with industry jobs. What’s the value other than a free 2 year party/networking session assuming you return to your firm?
I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. While I’ve gained so much practical experience and run my own book here, I want to shift to a non-traditional remote role in real estate but keep getting turned down. I have strong credentials but I’m worried this small firm experience is killing my marketability to large companies.
PSA: Vitalant (Bonfils) is now doing COVID antibody tests on all donated blood and sharing results with donors for free. There’s a critical blood shortage right now; if you suspect you may have had COVID this is a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. https://www.vitalant.org/Home.aspx
I miss swimming but all the gyms nearby with pools are closed with covid. I also used to like rock climbing. What all physical activities do you enjoy doing from home? In NYC so it is very cold right now and doesn't really feel like hiking options are available
Gun to your head, which B4’s tax practice (non-specialty) is the worst in the Northeast?
For those who were at mid-tier firms and have left PA/are interviewing, did you feel that your exit opportunities were limited due being at a mid-tier? I’m genuinely curious as I’ll be joining a mid-tier and I am coming from a regional firm. Hoping to pay my dues for another 2-3 years to get senior promotion and get my CPA (halfway done) then exit PA. Don’t really want to hop into B4 but everyone always talks about the B4 prestige being a huge resume booster.
How is the cognizant,’s work culture ? And compensations ? Compared To other consulting firms ?
Tricky situation: Got asked by the client I’m on if I’d like to join the team we’re serving. I know EY has a non-compete with clients. Thoughts/suggestions on how to navigate?
Would anyone know why the head of HR in a school district would call me on the phone personally to urge me to apply for a position, then I get rejected after the interview? I’m clueless.
Supposed to go to DU in March. I’ll be in second trimester. There’s no mask policy. I got the booster in November but Covid in December before pregnancy. Would you go?
