Anyone in house at a European company with offices in the United States? Are the vacation policies for the U.S. based employees as generous as the European employees?

Hahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha, if you consider 2 or 3 weeks starting as generous…

Unlimited PTO is a scam.

No. Policies vary and are tailored to the work location.

My cousin is counsel in the nyc office of a European bank. He gets European pto. So shop around and you might find what you are looking for.

like

No. They are not.

The place where I worked had a very good US paternity leave policy of 3 mos, but Europe had only like 2 weeks for the nonprimary caretaker (?) which is in practice their paternity leave policy. I think vacation was fairly similar but the European colleagues tended to not work during vacation and would take like multiple week long vacations.

Not as generous as for EU colleagues…. Even the expats that come to the U.S. get more days.

As a job seeker, what would be the benefits of taking a 12 month contract with no "contract-to-hire" statement in the listing over a salary or contract-to-hire position? I'm currently questioning if I should look for other opportunities, but potentially giving up my 401k, health insurance, and other benefits is nerve-racking, especially as a head of a household of four. Would it be beneficial to start a LLC or something if I were to go this route? I've only held salary positions in tech.

EY PAS said that they can’t offer more than 115k for senior associate in Chicago. I find that ridiculously low since accenture t&o is offering people 140k to join as a consultant. It is from my understating that ey associate is equal to analyst and sr analyst at Accenture. Then senior associate is equal to consultant/ sr consultant. What am i missing here?

I went in-house 3 years ago. At the time, I was interviewing with 2 companies. One company was a much better cultural fit for me and I was 1 of 2 finalists. But they chose the other applicant. I got the other job and have been there ever since. The work is ok,but I still struggle with company culture daily. 3 years later, the original job that I wanted has been reposted. Reach out to the GC directly to show interest? Is it worth moving from a comfy job just bc I think the culture will be better?

I just received an offer for a job I am very excited about. Base is within reasonable range and I will likely go back and ask for a bit more there. The company also offers a yearly cash bonus based on the performance of the company as well as a stock grant. Those are determined based on percentages of base salary. My question is: are those percentages typically negotiated or set based on position?

I see a lot of posts out there about huge salaries and whatnot, but I can’t help but think the things I do most days don’t really require a law degree and can competently be done by intelligent business minded folks, such as contract drafting/negotiation and strategy development, and as such I am overpaid. After ten years of doing this work, I struggle to define what special attributes I bring to the process since it all seems so simple. Just wondering if anyone shares the same feelings.
