Started a new job in recruitment half a year ago and I’m absolutely dreading my time thus far. My team is incredibly detached from each other and I get nitpicked for the stupidest of reasons (like why am I picking not to go to the office, even though we have a temporary full WFH policy), not to mention that my male coworkers get more praise for doing less than me. It’s incredibly demotivating and I went from wanting to do more to just doing the bare minimum. Is quitting the only option here?

Considering an imminent offer from Accenture. What is the entry level salary range for a Principal Director (Level 5)?

I just had one of the worst melt down in my life (to the point I srsly thought about self-harm) and thinking maybe I need to step away for two days to recover. I have a client that files on Thursday so the ddl is coming up. I’m thinking of trying to push through my task today and asking for Monday and Tuesday off. Does that sound reasonable? I’m just a staff and I don’t know how to properly communicate this to senior and manager without sounding like I’m trying to slack

Hello everyone! Happy hump day! We’re on the fast track to the weekend now! Yay! Although I do love my job too so I am very lucky! However - I haven’t had a pay rise for over 4 years and with all the cost of living going up I need to re- think my options. People keep telling me it’s an employees market out there and you can command what you want - but I’ve been asking for years and they won’t budge. any advice? I manage design in the company and I am a line manager- what should I be on?

I need advice. My current manager is a temp consultant (we’re hiring for a VP of CS- DM me if you know anyone) and she is absolutely awful. She’s condescending, disorganized, she micro manages us, and she doesn’t listen or value our time or respect our work/life balance. I could go on… We’ve lost 2 teams members in the last 2 months (w/ another 2 on the way out, inc myself) because of her poor leadership. Should I send a cry for help? Should I tell the CEO or HR? Or keep it to myself?

My Corp announced that our upcoming snow days will "potentially" be remote learning with an expectation of live learning. Teachers must teach at their scheduled times from home and give assignments accordingly. What are your thoughts on this?

I have been teaching for awhile and love what I do. I see all these awards coming out for amazing teachers. Awesome. I then dig deeper and I find a trend that the students they are helping gain knowledge are in the top 1/3 or higher in the their class. Also, another trend is students who struggle with reading/math are in larger classes. Why is that? I have no idea and just something I have noticed over the years.

Let’s compare salaries from when you first started teaching to your current year.
My first year was 2014-15 and I made 51K.
My current year 2019-20 and I make 57,500.

I just read an article about some schools providing an evening kindergarten option for some families. This seems like a great option and I'd honestly prefer teaching in the evenings. Is this an option at any of your schools?

So an employee in the know has told me that after Christmas Break, our principal will be constructing a letter to give out to “revoke” remote learning for students that are consistently absent, failing, etc. I’m not sure how to take that...

I recently read an article that reading scores across the board have gone done since 2017, even for advanced students. What is the cause? What are we doing wrong? I think it's due to students reading less in general- more screen time.
