I know someone who did and she's miserable in audit. She's now trying to transfer back to tax.

It's really only advisable after your first year. After that you'd probably have to demote yourself and firm hop to pull of that change
I did it after one year. Happy with the decision, but it delayed promotion by a year. Not a big deal long term, but it's frustrating short term.
Works out well for some people... Give it a shot if you're interested. Sometimes you can just try a rotation.

I switched from tax to audit a year ago. Only stayed in tax for a year too. Never looked back. Did not see myself preparing/reviewing tax returns for the rest of my life.
I've been in tax for a year and a half so I think I can still do it, I also don't see myself doing tax returns
