Perhaps the anonymous nature of the app and AA is keeping folks a little quiet. I recommend just going to a meeting, any meeting, and saying hi to the folks you think would be fun, friendly, and open to fellowship.

I wish I had known things like enrolling in a high deductible health plan at 24 when I started work so that I could enroll in a HSA for the triple tax savings or the importance of maxing out a Roth IRA or maxing out a 401K and not just to the employer match. What are some things you wish you had known earlier or by age 30? In some ways, I feel like I'm late in the game. See more 👇🏻

3. How does growth ( Appraisal, Bonus, promotions) look like in this field? Is it difficult to grow?

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

Looking for some perspective and advice. I’ve moved to an in-house analytics organization for a large fortune 10 company and have prior experience with a big 4 and a startup as head of analytics & data science.

Received an offer at an advertising agency for a senior role (slightly more money) and torn on taking the offer or not. This would be my first stint with an ad agency. Potential reasons against: 1) risk? I’m in the safe side already 2) longer hours? 3) less upside growth potential?

This past Wednesday (the 24th), was 3 years of sobriety for me.

In 15 years of weekend binge/blackout drinking, NEVER had I gone more than 3 weeks without a drink (typically never more than 1 weekend without a drink), and now my sobriety is counted in years (though still one day at a time).

I am beyond grateful and I know that this is something I could never do on my own.

Does anyone have recommendations for non-alcoholic drinks? I have been having soda with lime at happy hours, but also just found Athletic Beer that is n/a as an option. I’m tired of temptation and upturned or confused looks. Also, just have felt so much better not drinking and not going down a spiral - really want to keep things that way.
