Anyone in this bowl did the CAMS exam? If so, is this an exam that can be passed without AML experience?

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

Does anyone know of recruiting firms with a focus on Anti-money laundering? I’m foreign educated and newly admitted NY attorney with CAMS certification but living in Miami lol. I’m here, because my husband practices in SoFlo. Any recommendations? I don’t have any experience but have CAMS.

I read all these situations here and one thing seems certain. If districts don’t do a better job of protecting teachers and reducing these ridiculous workloads and expectations, there are going to be a lot fewer teachers than there are now. The millennials and Gen Zs are not going to put up with the disrespect from students and admin. It’s time to start thinking of teachers’ needs or there aren’t going to be any. I work with lots of younger people and they justly won’t tolerate nonsense.

Giving notice next week - I plan to give notice to my main partner in person and call 3 others who are in another office who I have a lot of cases with. I have a bunch of partners who I have only one case with and don’t see/speak to much (and who are in another office) - is it ok just to email them? I don’t want to come off as disrespectful but I also don’t want to give notice 15 times in a row ☠️

One of my supervising attorneys all of a sudden is heavily redlining my work by just rephrasing what I originally wrote and adding things I find unnecessary. He didn’t use to redline my work this much and everything ends up being overly dense and wordy. I’ve always gotten good feedback on my writing skills and after 8 months at the firm I know my writing has improved. All other partners and supervisors are actually redlining my work less. Should I be suspicious or is he going through a phase?

Tips for dealing with an older managing partner? I have practiced law for several years and still struggle with the feast-or-famine nature of my practice. (Sudden rush of client outreach, many emergencies, then … nothing). A famine week might be 3-4 billable hours/day. My practice area does not have a predictable annual cycle, like “year end” or “tax day.” Any tips from other attorneys for how to recognize, predict, and/or even out these periods?

Recruiters are completely, utterly useless and will do nothing but waste your time. Change my mind. Just venting.
