Thoughts on grabbing lunch or otherwise networking with a clerk when you happen to be involved in a case on their judge’s docket? For context, in my example, the clerk is someone I’d already been in touch with when they were a law student, and I am barely involved in the open case, but I AM one of the attorneys of record. My initial thoughts were that it shouldn’t be an issue as long as we don’t talk about the case (duh) and I don’t comp any coffee/drinks/etc., but I’m still leery.

Y’all! I accepted my company’s counter offer but then the company I was going to decline ended up countering my company’s counter… Should I relay this to my manager to see if they will increase my comp or should I just go with the other company?

How much income tax will be deducted on this amount without any investments and all.

I accepted an offer I’m not 100% sure about but want to work internally instead of on client work. Is consulting a safe backup if I want to return? I’m a bit older (mid 40s) and with ageism in tech, I worry if I don’t like this role, I won’t have options there. How do I stay attractive to consulting firms? What are typical exit roles from LS strategy into government organizations like FDA, NIH, CDC, etc?

Does this make sense:

1. Select legal expenses from GL
2. Show expense by vendor (exclude reclass, ajes)
3. Review all legal invoices and tie the invoices back to GL/vendor

I’m really not sure how this makes sense. This won’t show completeness because it’s possible the client won’t give us all the invoices??
