Credit unions are a tough segment. Once you get past the top 5-10 they aren't really big enough to support much consulting services.

like

Why tho? There is no scale therefore a job in strategy probably does not exist. It would be a line role

like

If a CU has three or four branches, they are. It going to have a dedicated strategy person. It does not make sense...you will need micro segmentation to identify your highest probability consumers, regulations do not have the requirements for CUs vs. big banks. If anything they are in a better spot...that same regulation would limit peer to peer lending and payments a CU would not have the scale for it to be cost effective. There is a reason why only the large National banks have P2P payments

like

They are not going to have

like

Slalom1, I agree. If I ever jump ship to industry, it would be to a credit union

C1, can you elaborate please? I was thinking Strategy role focused on growing out membership, product offerings, and competitive strategy for surviving in a tough environment from big banks, new regulations, peer to peer lending, peer to peer payments, etc.

Damn fat fingers

C1, there are larger credit unions though. Was looking at the top 5, I'm sure they would have dedicated resources for these types of roles?

So, with the whole SCOTUS thing being done. I again ask the questions. Whats the value of keeping the union together? We have a radical fundamentalist minority who contributes little to nothing but get to make choices on behalf and against the wishes of the majority of the country. Whats the value for states like New York, Illinois, and California to remain in an union with states like Kentucky, Missisipi, and Missouri?
