Anyone interview with McMaster Carr for their manager rotational program? Was wondering what that experience looked like. TIA!

I also interviewed for one of their rotational programs (honestly forgot which one). This was pre pandemic a few years ago, but my onsite interview was kind of an interview and tour at the same time. They show you around the warehouse and walk around the office introducing you to stuff, but then will also ask random questions. Like my interviewer flipped open their catalog at one of the stops and said “how would you improve this page”. Or when we were in the warehouse asked something about how to improve efficiency in a potential bottleneck area. Even during lunch break I was paired with two employees and that was also an interview. It was a pretty non traditional experience

I did for their Leadership Development trainee Program (feeds into Supervisor role, not Manager role)

It’s not really a ‘case interview’ more behavioral interviews, and then one interview had like a couple business situation questions. They try and relate the business situation back to the plant tour they do, asking about things you’d consider when making certain decisions.

Recently received an offer (out of the blue) midway through an interview process, and was a bit in shock - was told there would be a technical and additional steps. (External) recruiter was very aggressive and tried pushing me into a decision on the spot. Told them I needed to think about it and see the formal offer. Got a call from the hiring manager saying they were concerned about my “lack of enthusiasm” and that I shouldn’t share too much info with recruiters. How do I proceed?

How many interviews did you go on before getting an offer? I have interviewed with 4 companies since October and was passed up on all of them. The interviews seem to go well and the people I speak are generally positive at the end that there will be follow up. I usually make it 2-3 rounds before being rejected. This is killing me...

I’m a mid-level working in a niche area in NYC. I like the work I do, put in long hours, high quality work, take time to mentor juniors, etc. I see myself at a law firm long term but now wondering if this is the right firm to make partner. Among others, one big concern I have is the non-existent emphasis on diversity and inclusion initiatives (they aren’t even pretending to care...), no committees, no statements in support of POC, etc. How do I find firms really committed to these issues?
