How does one improve ability to market size on a real case (not an interview)? what are the best resources that teams use to inform market sizing data?

I’m currently trying to break into consulting with a Masters in Analytics and less than a year experience in a non consulting data role for a Fortune 100 company. I’ve been getting rejected quickly from entry level Big 4 applications and w/o interviews. Do y’all think hiring is slowing down or am I overestimating my resume?

12 YOE & seeking first in-house role. Apps have been mostly ignored with a few interviews. Company is finally showing interest - 3000 employees, small legal team, I’d be the 3rd atty. I asked around this company and haven’t heard great things.

Is it better to get into an in-house role (ANY in-house role) and then try to lateral somewhere else, or just wait for a better opportunity? Worried w my YOE it’ll be hard for me to find the right fit, and that having some in-house experience will help.

From my experience it seems like typically you will hear something within 10-14 days of applying but that depends on which month you apply.

I just finished a 3 stmt model case study for a boutique restructuring consulting firm & it felt impossible. Is it me or it was designed this way? Objective was 2 yr historical 3 yr projected, excel & ppt in 5 hours. Given a 10K of a retail company (not one of this easy online 3 stmt models). I saw accts I’m not familiar w/ on cashflows (def inc tax benefit, fx, construction lessor allowance, def lease credits etc) & nearly melted down. I finished & made it balance but it’s NOT right. Thoughts?

Does the debrief happen for a specific interview/candidate or do they do it collectively for all candidates together and come up with a final pick? I’d assume that due to their 5 day promise, they try to get back (with either accept/reject) but all interviews are not lined up at the same time?

How should I respond to the HR team’s email smartly about compensation?

This is for a corp strat role. I completed the first HR interview and will be moving forward to an interview with the VP I would be working for. The VP is on pat leave though, so I think HR is trying to keep me engaged in the meantime.
