Question for all SDRs out there, is it difficult to transition out of SDR role to Inside sales/CSM?

I’ve tried applying for internal transfers for such role but have been told I don’t have relevant experience. Same goes for other jobs. I’ve got 2.5 years SDR exp (in tech) + 4-5 years ad sales exp but I want to remain in tech. Current company sells graphDB.

In my last position I was a full-cycle AE for a proptech company for 2 years. I dealt with a wide range of customer types in the real estate and mortgage/appraisal space. Hi! I’ve been approached by Securonix for a Sales Director role in NA. I know the field and their competitors. The pay is good but I’ve seen a handful of websites with employee rating that is really bad. Each site has roughly 10 reviews but most are negative. Mostly referring to toxic culture and zero work life balance. How true is this in this sales org and the company in general? This is a backfill role after a 3 year tenure for the person who left.
