Looking for advice on dealing with a boss who is extremely difficult to work for. For example, my colleague has worked entirely remotely since COVID hit in March. She had planned to make 2 trips out to her family out of state during the holidays (for Thanksgiving & Christmas) but recently requested to stay during the interim, when it looked like her apartment might be under voluntary evacuation due to wildfires. I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $400k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!

I am 7 years out in a transactional practice (real estate) and have an opportunity to move in house at a regionally respected company from a midsize firm. I have WFH flexibility at my current firm but bill about 1850-1900 per year. It would be about a 25% paycut. I have also been offered partnership starting in 2022 if I stay - not entirely clear what that long term structure looks like (would have to develop a partially independent book in next 3-5 years). Am I crazy if I leave?
