What are the different levels on the careers portal. 7/11/12/9 written at the end of every job title. What is signifying what?
I just got an offer for a lateral position and have until Feb 12 to accept (I’m going to). They’re eager for me to start. Once I accept, it won’t take long to clear conflicts so I could theoretically be giving my firm my 2 weeks as early as next week. I have had a vacation planned for a while the last week of Feb (2 biz days in a remote cabin) — is it bad if I take it during my 2 weeks notice? Or should I postpone my start date?
Ppr league....Cory clement / Latvius murray / lamar Miller / Sony Michel / Adrian Peterson which 2 running backs should I start this week. Also should I play Chris Godwin at flex or one of these RBs

Is it hard to make friends as you get older? I find it was easier when I was back in college.
Partner is absolutely ripping me apart after sitting on documents for 6 weeks to review. Do I push back and say that I could have done a better job with a realistic timing expectation?
Why salaries in France are so low compared to other countries ?
I have senior tech background, managerial experience, and MBA degree.
I asked for 85k € gross for an Engineering Manager position, and the HR's reaction was like I'm asking for something outstanding. Or I'm looking in wrong places?
How does recruiting for Tech (FAANG) work?

Any ex-investment bankers here and willing to kindly answer some dumb questions on assumptions for a DCF model? 😭
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? (Let’s pretend the global pandemic isn’t happening)
Any married fish live apart from their spouse during the week? I think this is more common on the east coast but I’m west and wondering what makes it better and what makes it worse?
context: for work, I’ve done it once before for a short period of time (2.5 months) and it wasn’t bad. Worst part was not having weekends to run errands in the work city and see friends in the home city.
If a company asks you to move, how would you approach them about increasing your compensation? Salary or RSUs?
Do any other managers get annoyed when a resource works from home and is unavailable via Lync or Skype through significant periods of the day? How do you handle?

How much does everyone who practices insurance defense? And what kind of insurance defense do you practice? Currently in Workers Comp but thinking of moving over to General Liability.
Tips for being mostly independent as a first/second year attorney? My firm is now expecting me to be effectively independent but I have a hard time being confident in my abilities and trusting my legal judgment. How did you stop doubting yourself and manage your work in a way that minimized need for oversight?
I’m browsing the market and have my first call with a recruiter tomorrow who reached out about an interesting position. Any tips on talking with a recruiter for the first time?
Do you all work weekends (non-govt attys) as a matter of practice? Do all partners/shareholders work weekends? If I have trials to prepare for or motions to finish I do, but I am unsure if this is the standard or if it’s every weekend. I once had a partner at my firm tell me he worked 6 days/week and would only take Saturdays off if needed. 5 year atty in ID in TX for context.
Just a paralegal here trying to not dwell on the small things in life.
Recently got a 141 on my LSAT with no studying - I feel like a failure in life. Can someone please explain to me how good or bad my score may be? I re-take in January and if there is no resolution to this algorithm, I will just take my professor advise and lean towards public policy. Law is my passion but I don’t want to lead myself into an endless walk of shame ending where I am now. Any thoughts?
Why most lawyers I know are envious? If you don't like your job position, just change it and don't blame others for your own mistakes.
I hear first year partner compensation is actually *lower* than senior associate comp. And you have to by in. Is this true in many firms?
Thoughts on leaving a job due to poor management and communication? What level of oversight is normal in midlaw boutique litigation firms? I am a 4th year and starting to feel like I get zero feedback unless it's bad and am just left alone most of the time unless I harass the partner for some input. Then once he pays attention it's just beratement for not doing things the same way he would have. I need more experience with a partner who is present and available, am I being unreasonable?
What’s a practical gift for someone starting law school? Any suggestions are much appreciated!
What should I be giving my paralegal for Christmas? This is my first holiday season with any support staff so I’m unsure of the expectations.
I’ve left NY, and gotten barred in another state. I never plan on practicing law in NY again. What are the pros and cons of resigning from the NY bar?
Some good news after almost 11 months of applying and interviews and lots of rejections finally got an offer! In NYC small firm, ex big law folks, no billable hours, niche practice area, appearance of forwarded thinking firm, remote till who knows when, emphasis on pro bono initiatives and building book of business. The catch salary. Was making around 140k at last firm with 1800 billable. Offer is 85k and revist to bump to around 100k in several months after review (plus discretionary bonus)
First year family law associate..I only have 1160 billable hours done for the year (I’m including what I expect to bill in December as well). Given I only make $80,000 a year, is that reasonable? Or is that a super low number and should I expect to be fired soon 😂. My target billables is supposed to be 1680 a year. Also my hourly rate is only $109 because all we do is legal aid here.
Quasi hypothetical, and absolutely not trying to go political: if a (former) president is meeting with their lawyer and a Secret Service agent is present, does that breach confidentiality?
How long should it take to review and amend the seller’s disclosure letter? Is 6 hours too long? Bearing in mind it is being checked against the warranties in the purchase agreement and the info revealed via diligence.
How did you find the current firm you are at? I practice in NY and do personal injury/medical malpractice. The firm I work at is pretty small and I want to change firms but I am not sure where to go from here or how to commence the search
