My firm is planning to apply for a L1-A visa. Is there any benefit of this if I already have a green card?
Folks, I am on a work visa in the US and can legally work for one one employer. I am about to open a business and was thinking if I can register the company in my home country - is that allowed?
Need advice; current employer won’t file h1b extension and visa expires in 3/19. Got an offer and company filed h1b yesterday. Should I join based on receipt or wait for approval?
On H1B with approved I140 - Have 2 offers in hand - Publicis Sapient & Avionos. What would you suggest in case you are familiar with both of these companies?
Im on an H1B at Deloitte. I want to move to the Dubai and have been getting some traction with two different consulting firms. I’ve used less than one year of my first H1B. If at some point in the future I want to move back to the US will that count as a new petition or the sponsoring company with which I’ll get a job can file a transfer petition and get me started?
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
Curious if there’s any international students/professionals on here who has tried to go the entrepreneurial route? How did you manage immigration issues and investors’ adversity against legal risks? Would appreciate chat in the DM as well if people don’t feel comfortable talking about their legal status here. Thank you for your help!
I am interested in discussing joint marketing efforts with other solo practitioners (DC, VA, MD area) where we could have 1-2 lawyers within each legal specialty. I am federal practitioner (bankruptcy, tax, immigration, federal compliance, employment),so I could refer many other types matters to a joint group. We could maintain our solo practices, but have more joint marketing
Hi! So I received an email from the EY lawyers. They said they have received the notice of approval of my PERM labor certification (ETA form 9089) from the US DOL. And that my priority date is 11/6/2021 in a EB2 visa category. They also told me they submitted my I-140 petition to the USCIS. I just wanted to know how much longer it will take to get my green card. I asked when they will submit the I-485 application and they told me I need to wait to make manager (October 2021)
Has anyone filed for an H1B extension with consular processing recently? How are the approvals these day? Are we seeing many RFEs?
I have the weirdest of the dreams some times. At times it's very random or Deja Vu moments or with people who I've spoken to or thought about earlier in the day. But the rest is just batshit crazy like celebrity drama in space, house fire, serial killer/rapist chase around the house with all my female friends/relatives, and today was this horror show where my boyfriend and I and some couple are trying to fight this spirit and I get possessed in the process and start attacking them 🤣😭 (1/2)
Anyone here who started their consulting careers later in life? Always seeing posts about how young people make it to P... wondering about the other stories. I started as a C at 29 (yes, unfortunately, I fall into the bucket of exp hire hired at a lower level...), made M at 33. Doing well but also feeling like I’m already too old to aim to be a P. Hoping for some perspectives.
My stem OPT ends 2022 but I will be transitioning to H1b this October. My firm requires I complete the last page of the I-983 form but I am not sure what date range to put since I still have 12 months on the stem opt. Does any one know if I should put the range to end September 31st or next year when the stem opt actually expires?
Posting for my cousin - Deloitte 🐠 can anyone share their timeline from offer to h1b transfer? She is looking to take 2 weeks between job but not sure if it’s an issue. TIA!
My fiancé is on H1-b and his parents’ US tourist visa expired. Is there any way to expedite the visa process so that they can come to US for marriage functions? I am a US citizen if that helps at all.
Coronavirus is still lurking behind the scenes. News reports are so vague. They Don't even break it down by state?
When I’m interviewing for industry roles and I’m asked why I want to leave consulting, what’s a good answer to give? The truth is that I want fewer hours but obviously not going to say that
After watching succession it lowkey felt like it was written about the Ford family. Around the time I was watching the show I met bill ford at some event I help organize at the train station being rebuilt. Thought I was on the come up. Couple months later I was laid-off/fired ahah. Wasn’t even a mid manager was just an entry level employee lololol.
Have loved Chipotle since I was a kid but now I can afford the extra guac. 🙏🏼 #gratitude
Teachers, how long do you think it would take you to get back into the groove of teaching once all students return to the classroom?
Looking to leave agency world and go client side in marketing/consumer insights/brand strategy. 5+ yrs strat experience agency side and did some brand mgt for a startup as well. Anyone make the leap from Accenture to Deloitte? Was it a better fit, experience, and culture? Was it not?
401K Question - Very Confused. Just came to US and will be here for about 4 Years. Firm matches 25% of first 6% employee down. Some say, upon withdrawal, have to 40% tax/penalty / others say .. Contin
There’s a company that I really want to work for in the future, is it possible to convince them I apply for my green card now and then join them once the EAD card comes in post-GC approval?
My new mug of choice for work
Is a firm generally better than the other in Big 4 FDD/Corporate finance? (Better culture, better perceived by exits, better pay, etc)
Received an automated rejection email from a company... Four hours later, the recruiter reached out to schedule the third round interview. Huh? Am I living in the movie Groundhog Day?
5 years ago, I decline an opp to interview with Bain for an internal role. I think the title was process / tools specialist and the purpose was to provide SME on resources available to Bain’s consultants. Does anyone here have a sense of what the pay is for that type of role? I had been working as a consultant in HR Tech at the time and chose to move to industry instead. Bain had been a lifelong goal and I convinced myself I wasn’t good enough. It’s felt like the one that got away since.
Hi I was planning on applying to Blackrock for their Corporate strategy and development summer internship program. Could someone help me understand the job responsibilities better?
For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2
Is it possible that my job has given me anxiety and IBS? Prior to working in public accounting and even my first years in public I never really had anxiety. Now for the past 3-4 years it’s become a thing along with the IBS. I’m sitting here watching Netflix and my palms are sweaty AF because I’m anxious…story of my life. Any tips?
