Previous firm culture was all about the people, new firm is all about being the best... I knew the stereotype here was about being *the best*, but didn’t realize that people who buy into firm culture/values just repeatedly talk about how “we’re the best,” and, “we work REALLY hard bc we’re the best!!” I’m trying to commit, but end every internal call where I hear these words feeling like 🥴😶🙄. At least at the old firm there were relationships to back up the people piece and make it relatable.
Anyone in NJ/NYC/PA looking for a job? I’m looking for good people who want to work with pharmaceutical clients. Perks include no travel, wfh days and a friendly culture
Welcome! What is your favorite part(s) of living in Boston or the surrounding area? For me it’s the culture, sports teams, and the history.
What is Mck like in terms of inclusivity? Just got an offer. But nervous about all the whiteness i saw. Any 🐠 willing to share about the culture?
Some general question as I am not 100% on the culture. We forgot our daughter’s scooter at our community park. We see the same brand and color scooter at someone’s driveway near the park. Contd..
Alright, which biglaw firms in Houston/Austin are hiring class of 2020 for corporate/finance? I was magna at a top school if it matters since I’m a recent grad. My firm is good about giving us substantive work early so I have some decent experience for my level. My firm is pretending like the delta variant doesn’t exist and expects us in the office daily without masks. I have an immunocompromised partner and I’m just done with my firm prioritizing culture and back to office over our health.
Honestly, for those of us that who work 70-80 hours a week. Is that really necessary? How much of that is really needed vs. due to inefficiency, bad planning, lack of the alignment of skill sets in terms of staffing, or most importantly bad culture and working style?
Does Google have any roles in Strategy that can be done remotely? In a southern office and would like to stay here with family, but have heard good things about culture at google
Can anyone speak to culture of the EC/VC and M&A groups at WSGR? Looking at remote positions. Thanks!
director of diversity, director of culture, what do they do in the agency? Seriously wondering
Any idea about Point B consulting? Someone reached out to me for a Principal role in financial services. Any insights regarding work, WLB, culture is highly appreciated.
Hi folks! I’m close to 2 years at Amazon, been in tech sales for 6 years, and recently moved to a marketing position in events. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do something outside of sales, but burnout is pretty unavoidable at AWS. I’m curious if y’all have suggestions of other companies I should consider moving to in 6 months. Comp, WLB and inclusive culture are my top ideals. I’ve thought a lot ab Google, was offered a position at Hubspot but comp wasn’t enough. Please feel free to DM!
Anyone know anything about culture / hours / associate lifestyle at Orrick’s NY office? Specifically looking for information about the IP transactions group, but also information on the overall firm culture.
How is the culture of AWS professional services? Is it stressful like Amazon in general? And do people leave early and frequently?
Any insights into McKinsey's Transformation practice? Type of work, culture, hours, prestige, anything really would be helpful. TIA
Can we talk about the “Rise & Grind” / “Hustle Culture” aspect that seems to be organically baked into our role as Producers. Of course, it is what it is to some degree- but I’ve realized, in order to do my job effectively, my rest & work-life balance is a MUST. How have you handled that? Or do you just power through?
Anyone at Bain interested in discussing a referral? Just had my final round at BCG and don’t think i’ll get it. I have an offer at McKinsey but I don’t think i’ll accept after learning more about the culture. Bain & Company
Hey guys! I recently started working (3 months ago) and I have weird anxiety about money and savings, I’m also in an entry level role . My question is to partners or senior directors/senior managers because I aspire to reach that level of financial stability - at what point did you feel comfortable and how did you deal with money at a young age? Do you think that savings increase and financial stability increases as you rise up the ladder? What are your tips from personal experience? Contd..
Has anyone succeeded in securing a role in another country that would be open to connecting? How do you frame to recruiters a career gap to relocate?
Just got an email saying I've been selected as a candidate for a promotion in June...is this a new process?
>thought I trainwrecked an interview because i couldn't answer any technical questions ... > get offered r2 interview anyway because I have a 'good attitude' ... I'll take it 👌
How are you going to celebrate Mother’s Day

What do the requirements for equity partner look like at your firm? How is origination handled (ie once you bring in a client every new matter is your origination whether they called you or someone else at the firm, whether you do the work, and even whether for insurance clients the adjuster assigning to a colleague doesn’t know who you are)? My firm has one female equity partner- who doesn’t have a family. How can I work to change the mold for others to get there?
Can anyone help me land an internship in private equity. I go the University of Rhode Island and would love to send out my resume. Companies I’m interested in don’t have internship programs but I’m not giving up. Let me know if you can help and I’d love to send my resume.
Boomers are often considered selfish, right? Consider the following: People over the age of 75 comprise 54% of COVID deaths. At that age, the actuarial tables aren’t exactly favorable to begin with. By contrast, people under the age of 50 comprise 7% of COVID deaths. Throwing the world into a state of absolute chaos (thereby sticking younger generations with the long-term consequences) is next level.
Let’s start a conversation around parental leave - how is it at your agency. Does your agency do enough to support new parents? What changes can we make in our industry to better support working parents? Share your stories about being a working parent.
BOA Planning for permanent WFH ?? Is that true??
I’m up for promotion next year (will find out around February next year) and expecting my first baby in April. I get 16 weeks maternity leave and also considering whether to tack on a 3 month sabbatical or not. Should I take the sabbatical? I get 1/3 of my salary and can only use the sabbatical once every 5 years so I’m thinking it’s probably very unlikely I could take 3 months off in my career 5 years later….(cont)
How hard would it be to bump offered title from SC to M ? Offer is from Big4, Currently 4 yoe, cissp, cism, cisa, Any help would be appreciated
What is the hierarchy at Accenture in the Netherlands? I’m interviewing for a technology consultant position. What about the salary range, it seems quite low on Glassdoor, €50k. Accenture
Accenture, BCG, Deloitte & E&Y all signed up to be in the consortium for eliminating the gender pay gap. All the sudden I'm feeling the urge to switch firms!
Anyone work at UHY? What's the culture like? How are the hours in busy season /non busy season? Do you work from home at all? I know they are back in the office. What's the dress code (I'm used to jeans and a golf shirt lmao)? Do the managers welcome new methods of preparing returns? Are they afraid of tech / make you prove out your formulas?
Those working in consulting at big 4..are you constantly seeing yourself working 50+hrs during Covid and just being told to keep doing it? To what extent can we push back? Just because we are home doesn’t mean we don’t have family obligations as well... expectations up front are never communicated so I don’t find out I’ll be working long until I start a new client....meanwhile many colleagues are working 40hrs consistently but pay is same.... not a complainer but something’s gotta give
