Anyone know any ways to get a discount on an economist subscription?

Use the 20€ offer for 3mo and cancel, then repeat. In the end asked my company to buy the subscription for me as part of compensation package. I used it as an argument when they did not give me a big enough raise. Reasons: makes me smarter, improves content for small talk, high quality analysis, so indirectly useful for the job

You can also split digital access with friends who are interested.

Check your local library and see if they have digital version that can be loaned. Boston public library has it

Alright guys and gals - this is the first time I’ve been delayed. Supposed to take off at 9:50pm but delayed till 1:25AM. How do I go about asking for points???

I’m currently living in SF but thinking about taking a remote position based in NY. Will I get double taxed? They have an office in SF if that makes a difference but I’m getting hired at the NY location. Thanks!

I accepted a new associate position with a solo practitioner a couple of weeks ago. I'm supposed to start in a week. I've put in my notice. I got an unexpectedly positive pregnancy test today. I'm terrified about how to handle this. I think the solo I'm going to work for is stretching the budget to hire me. I don't want this person to lose money on me or feel legally obligated to keep me. How do I handle this?

Im weighing two options with former managers that I worked with. Option 1: $114k (paycut from current salary); manager role overseeing a team of 7; great manager and work life balance /// option 2: $150k + bonus ; director role working with market leadership team so lots of visibility and if I do well can grow into more things. Work life balance should not be more than 50-60 hours a week but it was with a former micromanaging boss. I also have a toddler with most of the responsibilities

Is it weird to ask colleagues to endorse your skills on LinkedIn? Not convinced that they really matter, but also worried about getting laid off and every little bit could help land a new gig if I need...

So I like military dudes, is San Diego a good place to live then?

You all inspired me (see post below about looking for a physical challenge that won’t kill me). I think I’ll try a triathlon/sprint triathlon. Any tips? I think (?) I can swim - I know I learned when I was a kid, but I haven’t actually swam in a few decades. I can definitely ride a bike and I can run. Not looking to win any medals, I’m just looking for a challenge that will keep me engaged.

Hello folks, I am new to fishbowl and recently got an offer from Publicis Sapient for a senior associate. They are offering $136k with unlimited pto benefits. As I am from the industry and haven't heard about this company before, I would like some comments or thoughts about working for this company? How do they invest in their employees (like pay raise, promotions, etc)?

I work in Finance and have 2 years of underwriting/banking experience and 3 years of Corporate FP&A experience at publicly traded big banks. I’ve been applying to finance jobs like crazy and interviewing and very doing well, but still no offer. Is something wrong with me?

I have an offer to join Pfizer as a SM in internal consulting role. Can I get details on work, WLB, culture, promotions, prestige etc. I am going to be taking a 23% pay cut to join Pfizer.

How important is it to workout with a trainer if you have weak joints/cant do a high impact exercise. I did nothing for a yr - now my knees hurt, my butt burns while sitting, my ankles crack, the list goes on... I tried physical therapy but the 4 sessions I went to - I mean not worth the $100+ that I had to pay (post insurance). At this point, I'm wondering if it makes sense to get a personal trainer and to ease the transition back to a somewhat consistent workout schedule. Fully vaxxed btw...
