Do we need to file for a new H1B amendment or LCA if I am going to be starting on a new client? Given that we are all WFH and there’s no need to be at the client site anymore ?
My H1B visa transfer with EY has been approved. We have received the e-approval. Can I now resign or give notice at my current firm? The guidance apparently is to wait for physical copy of the approval before officially resigning. But that date is uncertain and I’m afraid I could get the physical copy a day before my start date or a week after that. I’d like to give my firm around two weeks notice and I am scheduled to start on 27th Sept. Thoughts? As usual, radio silence from my EY recruiter.
I am currently going through a green card process with my company and they are asking me to sign an agreement, where my notice period is increased to 6 months and if I leave within 3 years, I have to repay the costs associated with my application. (Max 7k). Is this a standard practice?
Can I still continue to work for my current company A after another company B has applied for h1b transfer and it's already approved? Background- I received a very good counter offer after resigning from my current firm, and wondering if I can stay. Or is it mandatory to join the other firm once h1b transfer is approved.
Hello everyone. I am in the process of applying for green card for my dad. He is in his 70s. Key question I have is: what are his options when it comes to insurance when he gets the green card. Any comments from anyone with experience would be appreciated.
Why won’t more employers offer the opportunity for international students to join them? I just convinced my startup to sponsor me and I’ve been leading the process. All I had to do was register us on E-verify (FREE), and hired a law firm to help us with the H1B which will cost $7K. I still have two years of stem OPT on top of that. I thought the process was way more complicated. Not sure why some firms say they don’t accept international students when the process is so straight forward.
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
Has anyone on H1B here been laid off and found a job within the 60 day graces period? If so, what was your strategy?
My H1B expires in 8 months and my company has not filed my GC. Can i start processing my H4 and EAD based on my spouses i140 right away or do i need to wait till Dec to start my H4 application.
If your H1B transfer is filed before your grace period ends, but you don’t start the new job until a few weeks after grace period ends - does that count as out of status? Has anyone been in this situation?
Does Big4 hire ACCA individuals from international countries (they will not need visa sponsorship and would be legally authorized to work in USA).
Does Graduation must to apply for work visa in any country? Or someone can apply if he has completed normal Institute course that is not affiliated with any university. Pls suggest.
Does anyone know how people who already filed their AOS (i-485) will be affected by this? I'm vaccinated but my AOS was filed in March along with medical examination and I'm concerned this will delay the process even more :( Will we get RFEs after October 1st? https://www.natlawreview.com/article/cdc-issues-new-covid-19-vaccination-requirements-green-card-applicants
Cleared first round and my on-site is next week. It just came to my notice something about visa sponsorship in JD. It states “This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.” I have H1B but I would need H1b transfer and GC sponsorship. Can anyone help me out here.

Peeps I have H1b till Sep 2021 but my passport expired in Sep 2020 and along with it my I94. I had already renewed my passport back in Feb but haven’t left the country since. I read online that my presence in the USA is unlawful and staying here unlawfully for more than 180 would bar me from entering US for 3 years. What are my options ?
On my first ever Virgin America flight. This could be the end of my tortured relationship with AA
Leaving audit to go into Risk Management was the best decision I ever made. I make 20% more, am way more appreciated, get a summer flex schedule and work from home every Friday of the year. #thankful
Anyone has experience with Verizon Enterprise Solutions? Trying to understand the work culture, long term opportunities etc.
Professionals that moved / transferred to NYC (let’s pretend normal times), is the work culture as intense as it seems? How is it compared to where you moved from?
How do you think a swap from MBB to big4 strategy would be viewed? Currently in a flagship office of an MBB and there is basically no strategy. There are 9 miserable cost outs / transformations / PMOs for every 1 borderline strategy case. The staffing lottery in my region means you almost always end up working 75 hours+ on some god forsaken project. Contrast that to what I hear about big 4 strategy: lower hours and more strategy exposure as the crappy projects go to the other MC departments
What’s the perception of Rolex? Will someone everyone look down on a Rolex bc its a “beginner’s luxury watch”? Any recommendations if it’s a good one? Context: joining an MBB, undergrad
What is the WFH scenario at EY? Till when has it been declared and what is road ahead? Is the firm looking to reopen the office? Do you think there will be an option of permanent/optional remote working?
Had an intern whom I could not recommend for hire. She didn’t report to me directly so I never gave her feedback directly. She just asked if she can list me as a reference How would you respond?

I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.
In Tech at D. Over my past 4 projects they seem to really burn us into the ground overwork us. Is that just my bad experience? Other Big 4 have a similar issue?
