Anyone know anything about leases on cell towers on property? Specifically, can a charter school enter a lease for the use? We are not for profit and unsure if we can. I’ll be browsing through TX governing school laws...but curious if anyone knows anything about it...

have an opportunity to join an exciting, fast growing tech company. great comp and equity. the scope of the role is good, lots of opportunity to build big programs, high potential for growth - but the title seems junior for my experience (also brand side). I’ve been able to progress quite fast in my career so far and it’s freaking me out to take a “step down”. titles don’t matter, do they???

I come from the European culture of education where teachers are highly respected - very much like in the Japanese society where teachers get the utmost respect, as high as if not even higher than doctors / surgeons.

Students stand up when the teacher enters the classroom, say “hello” when seen in the hallway, etc. Teachers are (or at least are expected to be) GIVEN the respect by students. Seems in the US respect has to be EARNED.

Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.

I want to make more money but I don't want to be a GC. Did I have a bad experience at my last in-house jobs where the GC had no life and was beholden to the CEO? In my past jobs, the GC slaved away for the CEO.

I’m GC for two startups under a larger company. We’ve hit a lull and I’m honestly working 15-20 hours a week. Talked to my boss today and they want to hire another to take things off my plate since I am the only attorney. They plan to rewrite my job position to do more risk and compliance. Am I wrong for feeling like I should have been included in the convo?

Hi Fish. Recently moved in-house to a newly public tech company. People are great, but the team is really understaffed. No paralegal or assistant- we are doing everything ourselves. Is this normal for in-house? Have been working close to big law hours in addition to doing all basic admin for the group. Seriously considering a return to biglaw. Am I being crazy?

I was told by my manager that senior counsel would not be possible (unless current senior counsel) steps down. I'm comfortable here but also nervous about stalling my own career . How long can I stay in my associate counsel role before it looks bad on my resume? I'm looking to start a family so wouldn't mind staying for 2/3 more years.
