Feeling bamboozled as heck joining a consulting firm. The work is whatever, but the rat race culture is just awful, I wish recruiters and people interviewing were more honest about how this line of work actually works.

Wondering how to transfer between two companies under the same parent company. Other company wants me, but I need to follow steps before getting offer. Nervous to get things rolling with HR and my manager without being given a number. What if I get things started and don't like the official offer? How awk would that be to turn it down then have my mngr side eyeing me, especially in the unsecure time of covid? Has anyone navigated this successfully?
