Technical - there are a few hot technical areas right now Workday, Salesforce, etc where 200k for manager is what the norm is (at some firms it may require you to be high performer)

Strategy&- you’ll get there as a second year SA for sure. So that’s year 5.

Depends on your line of service. For most advisory groups (not strategy or M&A) it will take being Director several years.

I would say the exception is the Advisory groups that deal with tech - e.g Workday, Salesforce etc. I know of managers making 180-190 and most directors make 200+

I am a SC at D at 165k base in Analytics & Cognitive, expect a bonus of 15-30k this year. I know a number of external hires at D in Analytics and Cognitive hired as SCs over the past 18 months at 155-170k and will get solid bonuses, so they may not clear 200 but will be close.

Fishes at MBB or even Big 4 consulting. How is the return-to-work / hybrid model being worked out at your firm? I stared not too long ago and I’m not huge fan of the virtual environment. I’ve found it to be longer hours, unproductive and needless zoom calls. Before the WFH forever zealots jump on me, but m not advocating to return back the office 100%. I’m just genuinely curious if this will continue to be the norm. Because if it is, it’s not for me.

California State Income Tax question: I am joining a big 4 (audit) in California. The first couple of months I will be working remotely from home in another state. After these first couple of months, I will be moving to California. I think this puts me as a part-year resident in CA. My question is do I need to pay CA state income tax for the wages received prior to the move? Thanks!

Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
