Anyone know how difficult it is to break into privacy law? All I’ve seen so far is getting certified by taking the CIPP exam. Also if you are in data privacy, do you enjoy it?

Growing area. The CIPP is useless in terms of teaching you anything, but it is generally a pre-req for most Privacy jobs.

It’s mostly for signaling if you’re a lawyer. If you’re a non-lawyer, well it’s still for signaling because the information is pretty bad and sometimes contrary to law.

On balance, I (junior) do enjoy it. 70% of my time is spent doing DDs on the data protection side (irritating but good for maintaining billables), 30% on drafting/advisory. Of the 30%, 15% is marking up or drafting documents which is bearable enough, but the remaining 15% of advisory makes it all worth it, which relates to advising clients on grey areas and enforcement risks.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s too niche, and how it lacks the glitz and glam of M&A/PE… though on the whole, very happy.

Can you explain a bit about what the DDs consist of?

I’d like input!

I am currently a charge nurse and am in a “Pathway to Leadership Program” that will come with promotions into leadership/administration. I am concerned that going through the leadership ladder will lead to a lot of politics.

I am thinking of getting a masters of healthcare informatics, and would love input from people in both industries and any advice you have!

Would you continue into the nursing leadership ladder or go into health informatics (which also has leadership!)?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

My company has always had SalesForce but it was not really a tool that we used or that anyone looked at. Over the last year my company has put more stress on growth (to be acquired or IPO) and they are now obsessed. I know it is important and necessary and my boss is clearly becoming stressed with our entire team. But I find it extremely hard to keep as up to date and in line with they new expectations, anyone have any advice on how they stay motivated with SalesForce? Thanks!

Could someone break down the wealth management roles at JP for me? It is common practice at my small firm by two main partners to fly through transactions for clients regardless of potential conflicts (for the company) or issues that may arise. It is often chaotic and has led to lawsuits being filed by investors against the clients. I know this is expected from time to time but I feel like I’m not getting the proper exposure to doing deals the right way. Would it be better at a larger firm or is this common anywhere? Mostly deal with microcap companies.
