Have heard it’s 25% of the associate’s annual salary. Associate has to stay at the firm for some amount of time or else it gets paid back. Have heard half is earned at 6 months and half at a year

25% is standard, but in the current market some firms are offering higher commissions for the hottest practice areas.

I can confirm that 25% is the industry standard. Certain firms are currently paying higher fees for corporate placements in particular.
