Work is interesting, but a lot of bureaucracy/politics from what I've heard. You'll get good exposure, but most don't end up staying for long

Lots of opportunity to learn and gain knowledge, but PL1 is right - there's a LOT of bureaucracy, especially as you climb the ranks.

I've heard similar to what everyone else has shared. I would say it's good experience as long as you're aware of what you're walking into.

I've heard good things about the culture in general but can't speak to product specifically

looking for some advice! I’m coming up on my 1 year at the company I work for. I am a General Manager of a mid-sized lodge, I manage about 12-15 employees and have no assistant manager. In the last 4 months I have started training new managers in the region and even going to other hotels to help onboard / open them. Continued in comments

How are your engineering teams estimating user stories? I want to validate how my company is currently doing them. I'm looking for ideas on measuring personal productivity as a product manager. What I'm looking for are quantities or quasi-quantities for how I work that will be leading indicators of the outcomes I create. Not looking for product, business, or dev metrics. I have those. Likewise, not work outcomes.

E.g.: hours of uninterrupted focus work, total and daily average. Number of client listening/reqs-gathering meetings, weekly or monthly.

I'd like to relate these to outcomes over time.

Folks , I’m considering kicking off the job application process again. I feel like I can’t reach my potential as a PM at a consulting firm. For one, we have no access to user data, usually our users are clients, and we rarely get to interface with them. As a result, I don’t have any experience in A/B testing, or proper user experience research. Is this an extremely important skill? Should I look to jump sooner than later ? There are other skills I get to aggressively build here, however

I've done toastmasters and I'm fine normally as an extrovert. But tend to panic and not do my best when it's a high stakes work related moment to clients. Internally at work with my office teams, I'm fine.
Not awful, but definitely room for improvement with regards to my public client facing persona.

I just winded up Product Sense interview at Meta. The interviewer started with quite some intro and then followed up with a question on “why would you like to work at Meta?”. That again took away some time. During the interview, I sensed a lot of urgency from the interviewer to get to articulating the user problem, and the interview overall went not as expected! Because I couldnt follow the structure I had thought I would like follow. Anyone here with insider knowledge of how this might go down?

I am interviewing for director/group PM roles (10 years product management exp) and I was asked as a second round to go through a “product sense” interview, conducted by a junior PM reading the script. I know product sense is needed as PM (i have recruited many PMs in my life) but it felt quite underwhelming to go through an hour of this … the PM was very nice, but couldn’t answer any complicated question either … is this still the norm for senior processes, is it FAANG legacy or just bad luck?
