I worked exclusively client side prior to my current agency role and I can confidently say that it doesn’t matter where you worked before as long as you can do the job. And also the client side is substantially easier based on hours worked and expectations of managers. But also much more slow moving. :)
Lots of clients are also bring agency work in house and could be a seamless way in. 😊
