Looking through LinkedIn, seeing a lot of people who move from one PE firm to another. How common is this?

Have no previous PE experience but recently offered a role (VP for portfolio ops side, UMM/MF size) and wondering about how many PE doors are opened simply by being in PE.

Does it make sense to hire someone with UX design knowledge at an in-house company? We have one main website and two smaller websites (merch and media) and no mobile app. We have two candidates for an open graphic designer position but one has UX design experience and is asking for more pay. We aren’t creating new websites or anything, but that person might be updating the main Wordpress site. How might that skill set benefit us?

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. Went to a good-but-not-Ivy school. What qualifications and experience are FAANG companies looking for when hiring mid-level PMs? Can I break in at mid-level from here?

My current manager is a very controlling and has perpurated a v tense culture within the team. The boss recognises that the team is stressed, but blames the team for having such an attitude. The person is a micro manager dictates things like when work pings should happen, but at the root of it all, the team is over competitive & unhappy because of the leadership. Everyone's scared to write anything in PMR or perf for the fear of being identified. I'm new to to the team, but not to Google. Help!

I was relatively confident as I think my background is pretty much a perfect fit, but I should have asked for a referral first. Is it too late to get a referral if I already applied? Is a referral pretty much a sine qua non condition to get an interview?
