Anyone know if there is a typical staff level priority for layoffs with big 4? i.e directors first, analyst last. Partners not bringing in business go first?

For those of you who are currently working at or have worked in the past in Deloitte, McKinsey, etc - What is it like working at the big 4 consultancy as a UX designer? Do you think you are able to get strong portfolios out of the work? Do you think it would help you career? Asking as someone considering to move from in-house to a consultancy.

Anyone think Salesforce will have layoffs in the near future?

Is there a “busy season” in cybersecurity? Specifically in big 4.

With so much uncertainty in the economy and waves of layoffs that have hit tech especially hard... do we think there's really such a thing as a recession-proof job anymore if you're not an "essential worker"?

What are some reasons you’ve seen people get fired for? And how long did the warning process take, if any?

Should I try to go to B4 or MBB for a full time after graduation or get work experience at small firm then try to transition after that?

Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. But now she’s trying to leave and they keep trying to push her to stay saying she can be a partner in 8-9 years and laying it all out in detail. The issue is they laid off other staff (all but her) so maybe that’s it? Find it very odd.

Hi everyone! Idk if I need advice or I’m venting but I’ve been looking for jobs actively right now and want to make a switch soon. There’s a gap in terms or compensation for the jobs I’m being approached for. These jobs offer the same compensation I’m at or slightly higher (5-7%). This is demotivating and I honestly don’t know what to do. I don’t make an awful lot (105K in NYC) and I’m looking for a 20-30% bump in terms of compensation. Am I crazy here?
