I can tell you one thing...people won’t be having second, third, and fourth children 😂
Definitely a puppy boom
In this economy!? 😂.
For real I don’t think there will be. I don’t think people are suddenly going to decide to have children because they’re bored and inside, knowing you actually have to care for them
P1, You'd be surprised how many people have kids without actively deciding on it.
Only if it’s their first

I want to have a(nother) less now after dealing with 1 child, work stress, life stress, etc. I can’t speak for people everywhere, but shit sucks right now. It’s not “booming” and romantic. It’s exhausting.

If anything we’re in for a baby bust va boom. People are holding off on having babies and there isn’t a lot of casual sex going on either. https://www.brookings.edu/research/half-a-million-fewer-children-the-coming-covid-baby-bust/amp/

Some highlights from article:
“analysis of birth rates in metropolitan areas finds that all else equal, a one percentage-point increase in the unemployment rate is associated with a 1.4 percent decrease in birth rates.”
I think the number of people proactively having babies will be balanced out with the a lower rate of unwanted pregnancies (due to less social interactions).
Or maybe a higher rate of happy accidents due to people being stuck at home with their SO? Nothing else to do.
Sounds reasonable! That or an increase in divorce rates!! Though it’s scary that a lot of pregnant ladies aren’t getting regular medical care because of COVID fears. You are more susceptible to flu’s so maybe COVID.
Covid solidified our one and done status 😂
I know 2 women who got pregnant during Covid and it's not their 1st child...so based on anecdotal evidence, I'd say yes there will be a baby boom.

Good amount of friends are pregnant, but I think it’s only because I’m at that age. Some have pushed trying back a year or so, though

Yes. We already hit “go” on our child plan. We have one child (2-year-old) and wanted a second. Since we’re in our mid/late 30’s, it’s kinda now or never. So despite COVID, we stick with the plan and now we’re having twins. WHAT A SURPRISE THAT WAS! I’m sure we’ll be just fine.
I am seeing all my friends having kids, so🤷♀️
Do you think they’re only having children because of COVID? Plenty of my friends are pregnant or recently have had children, I myself am trying, but we’re all 2-5 years into our marriages and would be doing this regardless of COVID so these people wouldn’t cause a boom
I think there's definitely going to be an increase in surprises/accidents lol. I mean people being home and bored more? I could totally see it.
We’ll know soon enough!
Just had second in July - done now. I think they’re will be a boom due to nothing else going on - similar to winter months when it’s cold outside and long nights 😂

With the economy gutted I doubt it.
Wedding postponed, so kids are postponed too for us.
