Speak to other tenants, see if you can go for a group sue. Hit up the large law firms
As an aside: I was following your earlier post when initially asking about mold and just want to say I applaud your decision on moving forward in getting the test and taking action!! Best of luck, OP. I unfortunately can’t do much to help but root you on from afar
Agree with this. Go, OP! So sorry this is happening, but I’m glad you’re safe and wish you the best. Will follow and cheer on.
Any lawyer would kill for this case...
Not sure but check your lease terms and local housing regulations. Get your medical condition documented along with the mold identification by licensed professionals. See if you can find lawyers with relevant experience/cases/ background. Also see if you can find relevant cases in your jurisdiction.
Friend is a lawyer relocating to Chicago shortly. Unfortunately doesn’t know the area well enough to help with specific recs, but she says black mold is covered under Chicago law.
I don’t know of a lawyer, but maybe you could post on Nextdoor if you have an account? I don’t think you can do it anonymously but you might be able to find referrals to lawyers that way
Landlord refuses to speak to me. It's a very serious diagnosis I guess - done through mainstream medicine at Northwestern. A lot of lawyers I have called only support the landlord side in these types of claims and I'm desperately looking for somebody who will represent me - trustworthy and good at what they do
Appreciate any help!
See I was told that I could get in trouble for rallying other tenants. This is all happening very fast, but my first reaction was wanting to tell my neighbors who I really like. I had a few people tell me that the landlord could use that against me in my own case, and that I need to follow a certain protocol legally in doing that.

I did it for a disability case. I would use personal injury.
If you signed up for the Hyatt legal plan I bet they would have someone in the network
I called Hyatt and they said that they don't cover any expenses for plaintiffs - only if your the defense. I'm wondering if that depends on how the lawyer bills this issue? I was thinking this may fall under consumer protection - but I'm not sure if Hyatt or the lawyers I reach out to will see it that way.
